Reflection Paper

I have learned to love and appreciate more about the Aquino’s story, story of the people power
revolution and the effort of the people to have a democracy. Without the history, the people of the
Philippines would still be in the hand of only one administration. The story of People Power Revolution
includes the snap election, people’s victory, success of people power, and the best Revolution over. As
Cory Aquino says in the speech “ yet, equally, I will not standby and not allow insurgent leadership to
over the peace and kill our young soldier and threatened our new freedom’. I have now realized how
good leader she was during her administration. Wisdom in her words gives hope to every Filipino. Until
now, freedom remains in our nation due for the people’s voice and the People power revolution. The
foundation of history helps a lot for today’s generation.

In the speech of President Corazon C. Aquino enlightened my mind about the happenings during People
Power Revolution and Philippine’s Dept. This was considered as one of the best Philippine History
because it is also known in other countries and this is where the democracy in each Filipino achieves.
Aside from People Power Revolution, the death of the former President Ninoy Aquino was also a deep
and painful one for thousands of Filipino. It happened while the former president walked down in the
red aisle in plane and someone shot him in the airport. The airport was known as “Ninoy International
Airport” today. Even though the killer got arrested, still, his death was still clueless until now because
there is no justice, there is no punishment for the real master mind of killing.

I have realized also how big our dept during the dictator’s time. It was more than Billion that is why in
Aquino’s time, more properties from government are being sold to private authorities. However, those
properties are owned by nation and people in that time. Hope they did not sell those properties for the
benefits of the Filipino’s future such as the Meralco and many more properties.

The best part of his speech about Ninoy stories is when she said “Today I have returned as the President
of free people, which I came to power” .Therefore, there is still a chance that a lost faith and hope of
people would recover. Filipinos committed to have democracy to sacrifice their lives and together with
her they achieve freedom. They restore democracy and false constitutional government.

The lesson I have learned in her speech is that we are so very luck to fight our democracy and fight for
our right to vote and speak up for the truth that will apply in the improvement in our country. Filipino
people should know what happened in our history through watching more documentaries and speech to
have knowledge and to be aware. I believed that the past, present and future in the Philippines are
connected in terms of politics and government. Therefore, I will study about the foundation of our
nation as it reflects in today’s generation.
