Single and Multiphase Flow meters Training Course

Course Description
This course presents the principles, design, and applications of flow metering systems,
emphasizing flowmeter accuracy, performance, sizing, and specification, selection, and
installation practices for both single phase and multiphase flow meters.
Classes include an overview of flowmeter advantages and disadvantages of each
technology, as well as guidelines for meter usage.
The course also will gain the attendees an understanding of density and viscosity
effects on flowmeter performance, gas law calculations and how they apply to gas flow
measurements.
The course will introduce the concept and use of Multiphase flow and metering concept
including most of the technologies used from different manufacturers and selection
methods.
Course Topics
 Define fluid velocity, viscosity, and volume flow rate.
 Describe laminar flow and turbulent flow.
 Explain how pipe size, pipe friction, and fluid viscosity affect the measurement of
fluid flow.
 To Perform flow meter compensation and totalization calculations
 To Understand flow and related phenomena (piping hydraulics, Reynolds
Number, cavitation, etc.)
