Impact on Renewable energy in uae III

Abstract
Renewable energy is currently favorable to the economy in the United Arab Emirates. The main
purpose of this report is to determine from the statistical analysis and from recent studies about
the future working and development on renewable resources. The report will also elaborate the
factors contributing the abolishment of non renewable resources. The main renewable energy
factor in the United Arab Emirates is strengthening government agencies to take a holistic view
and compare energy costs and policies and government future announcements for sustainability
of renewable resources. At the end what would be the advantages in context with future of UAE.
Impact of renewable energy in UAE 1.

1. Introduction

As the world grows and the population grows, it needs more power. If we continue to spend
energy at the same time, demand is greater than supply, and the world moves to alternative
energy sources that can be sustainable and friendly. more These types of sources are called
renewable energy. "The main renewable energy sources are solar, wind, biomass, tidal,
geothermal, and solar." Solar energy is referred to as renewable energy and / or sustainable
energy because this is possible used while the sun is shining "

Technological innovation has become a more important capability to lead countries and
companies in the future. The United Arab Emirates is an important oil country and no large
amount of crude oil was delivered. However, he made political decisions about the development
of renewable energy sources. The loss of fundamental institutional, operational and infrastructure
requirements that create significant barriers must be overcome in order to effectively implement
this policy. For these reasons, and for other reasons, the United Arab Emirates serve as "proof"
of the potential of renewable energy and can ultimately be used as a model for nations. Family
Family Other oil exports The United Arab Emirates emphasize evidence and errors. Therefore, it
will help prepare the theory and practice of renewable energy, which will contribute to an
effective policy path. The UAE aims to build a sustainable infrastructure to generate energy
through renewable energy. (EXPORT.GOV, 2018)

Demand for electricity and water continues to increase due to population growth, economic
expansion and climatic conditions. According to Business Monitor International, the country's
annual energy demand in 2012-21 is rising at an annual average consumption growth of 5.6%.

According to the Energy Status Report 2015 of the United Arab Emirates, energy production
from gas in 2012 will fall from 98% to less than 76% as clean energy comes from production
efficiency. The number will increase.
.
The energy sector plays an important role in shaping the internal and external policies of the
UAE. Since the discovery of oil and gas more than half a century ago, the United Arab Emirates
have become a central player in the global hydrocarbon energy market.
The United Arab Emirates is the fifth oil producer of OPEC, with the production of oil 2.79
million barrels per day (bpd) in 2013. In the same year, the production of natural gas, amounting
to about 54.60 billion of millions of cubic meters. Oil production capacity will increase to 3.5
million barrels per day for 2017.

The United Arab Emirates is located in the Middle East and the East of the Arabian Peninsula.
The soil is usually dry and warm from the desert. The United Arab Emirates comprises seven
emirates. Abu Dhabi is the largest and controls 90% of all oil and gas reserves in the United
Arab Emirates. The Federal Government of the United Arab Emirates recognizes that are
diversification of the economy plays an important role in continuous development. Other
important industrial activities. This land includes buildings, aluminum, chemicals and plastics,
metals and heavy equipment. According to the Environmental Status Report (EAE) of Abu
Dhabi (EAAD 2007). The air pollution source comes from the oil and gas industry, followed by
power generation and desalination. More than 90% of the water consumption comes from water
and shows the combination of energy and water. (Alrawi, 2018)
Impact of renewable energy in UAE 2.

Natural gas accounts for more than 99% of total electricity production and the remainder is oil
(ADWEC 2008). It should be noted that local gas consumption has decreased over time. This can
only be pointed out that the United Arab Emirates reserve is insufficient to meet the nation's
future energy needs. Therefore, the economy will depend on the future of more polluted sources
of energy to bring gas to a standstill. Although Abu Dhabi has the necessary oil resources to
support greater power production, CO2 reduction is also increasing. In addition, the United Arab
Emirates and other Gulf states have the highest CO2 emissions per capita and the United Arab
Emirates the second highest water consumption per capita to the United States. , (EAAD 2007).
Figure 1 shows the history of CO2 emissions in the United Arab Emirates (CDIAC 2009).
Earlier this year, the United Arab Emirates government announced the first ER policy. By 2020,
7% of electricity for the electricity industry comes from RES. This means that fossil fuel RE
resources are being used to improve the production and desalination plantations.

2. New trend for renewable energy in UAE.

The United Arab Emirates plans to use nuclear energy as the main source of non-hydrocarbon
electricity generation. The United Arab Emirates have launched an important nuclear program
under the direct supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency. In order to achieve the
ambitious goal of the nuclear energy policy of the United Arab Emirates, the United Arab
Emirates was founded in 2009. More energy is gained from renewable solar energy. This land
comes from solar energy because it plays an important role in constant energy. Solar projects As
part of the Clean Energy Strategy of the United Arab Emirates to produce 75% of clean energy
in Dubai by 2050, Dubai will realize its solar project. Biggest focus in one place World values

IRENA is an intergovernmental organization that helps countries decide on a sustainable energy

future and acts as a leading platform for international cooperation, as an outstanding center and
main camp. , Books, Technology, Resources and Financial Knowledge on Renewable Energy.
IRENA promotes the widespread use and sustainable use of all forms of renewable energy,
including bioenergy, geothermal, hydropower, ocean, solar and wind power, to continue
promoting sustainable development, energy access, energy security and low-carbon economic
growth

Dubai's energy strategy was launched in 2030. The Dubai government established the Supreme
Energy Council in 2009, which manages all aspects of the energy generated and develops
strategies. Energy. Dubai 2030 to improve the CO2 reduction process and ensure energy
efficiency. In January 2015, Dubai announced the renewal of its renewable energy targets for a
combined energy of 7% by 2020 and 15% by 2030. (Franklin R. Edwards, 1995 january)

3. Recent development for Renewable energy systems and results

According to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries in 2013, UAE's proven oil
reserves are the seventh largest with 97.8 billion barrels in 2013, with gas reserves ranked sixth
or seventh with 6.1 trillion cubic meters.

At 2.8 million barrels per day, the United Arab Emirates is also the eighth-largest oil producer,
but above all the world's third-largest oil exporter with 9.4 billion cubic feet. Every day is 17 °
gas manufacturer. (Boot, 2017)
In 2011, UAE's main energy consumption was 87.2 million tonnes of oil, with fossil fuels and oil
accounting for 28%, mainly for transportation and natural gas. Of course, 71%, are used as raw
materials for the production and for the electricity. and produce water.
The impact on fossil fuel demand is reflected in the population growth of the United Arab
Emirates over the last 15 years and the increased expansion of the United Arab Emirates in
energy-intensive industries, which are often distributed. Add gas according to the secondary
market prices and grow accordingly.
Overall, demand in 2010 began to outpace domestic gas production and the United Arab
Emirates became a net gas importer. Figure below shows the break down for the power demand
due to climate for the year 2012

Figure 3.1: Power demand breakdown for 2012

Impact of renewable energy in UAE 4.

The United Arab Emirates currently has the first shortage of cheap gas. In the past, the United
Arab Emirates were able to produce gas at less than $ 2 / MBtu3. In 2010, they signed an
agreement with Qatar for the supply of gas for less than 2 USD / MBtu by 2032 by dolphin
whistles.

Due to the limited growth in domestic production, the United Arab Emirates moved to LNG in
2010 to ensure that gas supply and LNG imports will increase in 2016-17.

Even if the United Arab Emirates had increased domestic production enough to prevent further
imports of LNG, gas costs rose by 400% compared to 2009.

In terms of current gas supplies and consumption, the United Arab Emirates used about 8.9
billion cubic feet per day in 2012 for domestic demand: 3.4 billion cubic feet per day for the
national industry, 2.8 billion cubic feet per cubic foot per day Well for the EOR and 2.7 Bscf / d
for the production of energy and water for civil and commercial use. (GOVERNMENT.AE,
2018)

Energy demand for the year 2011 can be shown in a table below:.

4. Current renewable energy projects and findings

Renewable sources are on an upward path in the United Arab Emirates, even though they are
well below the level proposed in this report, which is based on new cost data. Energy is the main
objective of the operation, driven by solar energy, energy and wind energy waste, although pilot
projects for thermal cooling and transportation of fuels are being carried out. The promotion of
renewable energy began in 2008/09, when Abu Dhabi for the first time in the region has the goal
of achieving 7% (about 1 500 MW) of renewable energy by 2020. Dubai has announced a target
of 5% renewable energy (about 1 000 MW) by 2030. Despite regional and international doubts
about the possibility of renewable energies in the oil exporting countries, the development The
declaration and promotion of renewable energy from the United Arab Emirates had a significant
impact on normalization. (Edwards)

4.2. Solar Energy project

Solar energy has been the main objective of the United Arab Emirates efforts so far. In Abu
Dhabi, the 100 MW Shams 1 CSP plant was commissioned, the largest renewable energy project
in the history of the Middle East and Dubai, which introduced 13 MW of photovoltaic solar
energy as a first phase. of the last 1,000 MW solar park Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum in
Dubai. In August 2014, Dubai released a 100 MW photovoltaic energy package including the
park. The bids announced in November 2014 broke the world record in terms of cost
competitiveness. The lowest bid was 5.98 cents per kWh, more than in the US. 8 cents per kWh.

About 10MW of rooftop photovoltaic energy is scattered throughout the country and can be
upgraded with new metrology standards from Dubai and approval of Abu Dhabi wiring
regulations. , The United Arab Emirates is also considering solar energy for desalination. In May
2014, Masdar signed a contract for four pilot projects using energy-saving membrane technology
to produce approximately 1,500 cubic meters of water per day. If successful, they will pave the
way for large scale renewable energy for desalination. In general, photovoltaic solar energy is
quickly becoming the most interesting technology in the United Arab Emirates due to its cost
and available resources. However, CSP with thermal energy storage is still attractive due to the
potential of providing base load energy. Hot water from solar panels is also available on the
market, but currently it has limited uses. limited to large businesses (mostly hotels), Dubai
(mandatory places in new buildings) and government-sponsored apartments for citizens of Abu
Dhabi UAE. .

4.3. Waste to energy

Waste of energy has attracted much attention due to the urgent challenges of waste management
in the United Arab Emirates and the success of the Nordic countries in reducing the
environmental impact of key technologies. The country's waste profile is enough to turn waste
into energy, although the government is reluctant to charge fees, which leads to cost
complications. An Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract was awarded by
Bee'ah, one of the Middle East's most advanced waste management companies, in a 53 MW
plant in Sharjah. In Abu Dhabi, the Taqa state-owned company is developing a 100 MW plant.
The United Arab Emirates also began to analyze methane recovery in landfills. Ras Al Khaimah
has a 2 MW plant in operation. In 2013, a 1 MW plant was put into operation in Dubai. A first
study estimated the potential of 12 MW at one of the most important landfills in Dubai. , As
another aspect of waste-to-energy conversion, the aluminum company Dubal Dubal has been
conducting a successful test for over a year to convert waste heat from the process to on-site
cooling with refrigerators. absorb. Although no details are available, it is anticipated that
expansion in the future will depend on rising gas prices.

4.4. Wind

The United Arab Emirates has commercial air resources in the Fujairah emirate along the Indian
Ocean coast, although land use is less relevant to development. In Abu Dhabi, Masdar also
manages the resources of Sir Bani Yas Island and realizes the potential of 30 MW, although the
project has not yet been approved. (Bankers without borders, 2018)

5. Advantages for the renewable energy in future prospect

Masdar launched a pilot program for the desalination of renewable energy to test advanced
technologies for energy efficient desalination, which will eventually be used in desalination
plants for energy recovery. Researchers from the Masdar Institute and MIT have jointly
promoted the development of redox flow batteries to improve renewable energy products by
saving energy more efficiently, such as: As chemical chemicals and reduce energy when needed.
U.A.E. It has also become the center of the region for significant renewable energy and
alternative energy, especially during the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Week and the issuance of water,
energy, technology and the environment. U.A.E. Organizes exhibitions on water, energy,
technology and environment. The theme of Expo 2020 is "Connecting the Spirit, Creating the
Future" and one of the "Sustainable" Themes. This theme offers countless opportunities for
countries and businesses to showcase the latest innovations in alternative and alternative
technologies. Under the National Strategy and Global Commitments, U.A.E. Many are planning
to build infrastructures for renewable energy and alternative energy, especially in the area of
nuclear and solar energy. U.A.E. Engagement With renewable and alternative energy sources, it
also offers interesting investment opportunities, especially if some of these projects are public-
private partnerships. Finally, look for alternative energy in the United States. It offers
opportunities for entrepreneurs and cleans tech startups. (Fernandez, 2019)

6. Conclusion

10% of the total energy mix's renewable energy, as described in this report, will generate annual
savings of $ 1,900 million by 2030, based on avoiding fuel consumption. A major increase in
natural gas prices and a reduction in the cost of renewable energy are the main factors. Today,
the price of the ship is between $ 9 and $ 18 / MBtu, even after explaining the temporary price
reduction in late 2014 and early 2015. Other renewable energy technologies such as solar
photovoltaics, air and waste heat, more than 8 USD / MBtu and solar photovoltaics in the United
Arab Emirates can keep up with gas prices of 4.5 USD / MBtu.
