Your Title
• Single or double line
• Should be:
- Short;
- Reflective of the problem and the main variables of the study;
- Free of value judgment;
- Answers what, who and where questions; and
- Recommended length is 10 to 12 words.

More Points to Consider for Writing Titles

Write the title clearly and specifically.

Main concepts should be included.
The variables being investigated should by all means
be written as part of the title.
In case of studies where many variables are being
studied there must be some ways to choose terms
that will summarize these variables.

TIPS…
1. A literature review is a
discursive prose, not a list
describing or
summarizing one piece of
literature after another.
2. Not good – every
paragraph begins with
the name of the
researcher

TIPS…
3. Organize literature review
into sections that present
themes or identify trends,
including relevant theory.
4. Do not list all the published
materials, instead,
synthesize and evaluate
them according to the
guiding concept of your
thesis or research question.
