Assignment Objectives:
a. Perform PS DS via Duncker Diagrams.
b. Perform Kepner-Tregoe situation analysis to evaluate various aspects of a situation in terms of
three criteria; and
c. Perform Kepner-Tregoe problem analysis to determine possible causes of a problem.

Lecture Reference:
1. Self-instructional lesson 104-2
2. Engineering by Design by Gerard Voland pages 77-101

Group Assignment Instructions:


1. Collaborate and talk with your group regarding:
a. Lists of the needs of your household and/or immediate community that needs technical
solution,
b. From the list, choose just one need and write the initial problem statement (focus on the
functionality) for your design proposal. Identify your problem as either prediction, explanation
invention or combination of these types,
c. Is your chosen problem related to an existing product? In what way? Has this product failed to
perform its function(s) in any way? If so try to find physical flaws, process error, or errors in
perspective and attitude.
2. On the computer, download or just copy the Assignment template on a New Word
Document and format the document to A4 size, portrait orientation, moderate margins,
font is Calibri (Body) size 11, and single line spacing.
3. Remember that you are all editors to the Box Drive so you can collaborate with your work
online even without face to face contact but If there are a need to see each other at least
you belong to the same municipality and there is no need to go out. On our shared folder ME
104, there is a folder named “Groups”, You should create your groups own folder under that
folder with your chosen Name for your collaboration of data and for me to monitor your
progress.
4. Reminder: Our shared drive has a max capacity of 10 GB and being shared also by my other
subjects, so use it wisely. Or you may also avail a separate Box Drive when you sign up and
its free but limited to 10GB.
5. Once in agreement, provide the answer or solution to every question or problem in the
Group Assignment Template,
6. After all the question and/or problems have been answered/solved, save it either as Word
or PDF file with the file being named after your groups name like justiceleague104-2G or
Avengers104-2G or just retain the suggested group name like Daet1104-2G.
7. If there are special instruction on the question inside the Assignment, just comply with it.
8. Upload the file to the sub-folder “assignment 104-2G” of sub-folder “Group Assignment”
under the folder “student submission” to our shared drive. Just one submission is needed
for the group, but don’t forget to include the names of your groupmates in the template.
