QUIZ SHOW MECHANICS

The quiz show is open to Grade 10, Grade 11, and Grade 12 students.
Each teacher is allowed to send only 1 participant (by section) (Grade 10) and 1 participant per
strand (by section) for the competition
Contestants will be provided with markers and bond paper
The Quiz show is divided into three levels – Easy, Average, and Difficult
Each Level is composed of 10 questions
The quizmaster will specify the subject area from which the question is taken before the question
is read.

The time limit will be specified at each level.


Easy – 10 seconds
Average - 15 seconds
Difficult – 20 seconds

Each Easy round question is worth 1 point, 3 points for Average and 5 points for Difficult
All questions will only be read twice by the quizmaster.
The clock down shall start after the question has been read for the second time and a “go” signal
has been given.
Tag boards should be raised and presented to judges when the quizmaster signals answer
BOARDS UP! the contestants to do so after the allotted time.
Tag boards should only be put down after the quizmaster and the judges have recognized the
answers and the results have been tallied.

Participants can already start writing their answers even before the quizmaster finishes reading
the questions.

The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable


Scores from each level (Easy, Average, and Difficult) will be summed up to determine the
FINAL SCORE
In case of a tie, the “sudden death” rule shall apply.
In the “sudden death” rule, the tied participants will be given a 1 question only)
The participants who answer the given questions correctly will remain, while the participant who
gets the wrong answer will be eliminated until a winner will be declared.
The Participant with the highest score will be declared the CHAMPION.
Certificates, Prizes will be given to the WINNERS.
