GUIDELINE FOR BSMT

QUIZ BEE COMPETITION


LIMA WEEK A.Y. 2021-
2022
I.GENERAL
• All sections from First Year to Third Year of BSMT must send a representative who is a bona
fide student of Lyceum International Maritime Academy.

• The registration form can be filled out online via: https://forms.gle/f3rj7rkjCiTqBCqE7. An


email will be sent to the participants to verify their registration and to advise them of
other requirements needed to join the quiz bee. All participants should register on or
before TUESDAY, MAY 10, 2022 on 0000H.

• The contestants will then be assigned to their respective teams. Each team will be
composed of one (1) first year, one (1) second year, and one (1) third year.
• BSMT Category – 10 Teams

• All the Participants should wear Type C Uniform. However, for the first- year and second-
year participants who still do not have uniforms are required to wear white polo shirt.
• The quiz bee will begin on THURSDAY, MAY 13, 2022 on
0800H

• POB AVR (Audio Visual Room) will be the room to be used for
the quiz bee.

• Participants should be present at the quiz bee venue 15 mins


before the scheduled time.

• Participants should ALWAYS be wearing their facemasks


throughout the contest. Moreover, participants must bring their
vaccination card and personal alcohol.
II. RULES AND GUIDELINES Below are the corresponding number of
items, points and time allotted for answering
• There will be three (3) rounds for each

4.3. TIME ALLOTMENT PER ITEM
• Questions for the quiz bee will come

from their Major Subjects ranging from

Difficult – 20 sec
• Each participant must have a white board/illustration board/bond papers, markers/chalks, and
paper and pens.

• The Quiz Master will read each of the questions twice. The questions will also be presented via
power point presentation.
 
• All participants will have to wait for the signal from the Quiz Master before answering the
questions.

• When time is up, the participants will be asked to raise their boards or papers to show their
answers. Participants can only show up and bring down their boards or papers upon instruction
of the Quiz Master.

• Questions and protests from participants regarding the answer to the items will be entertained.
If a protest shall arise, the participants may raise their hand and state their complaints to the
Quiz Master. Questions and protests must be raised before the next question is read;
otherwise, they will be considered invalid. The decision of the Quiz Master is always final.
• The team with the most points will be declared as the winners.
III. AWARDS

• There will be three (3) winners such as the following:


1st Place (Gold Medal) with Certificate each member of the team.
2nd Place (Silver Medal) with Certificate each member of the team.
3rd Place (Bronze Medal) with Certificate each member of the team.
 
• The winners will be announced after the event and during the awarding
ceremonies.
