COMPETITION

RULE BOOK
COMMON RULES & GUIDELINES

1. Entries which do not abide by the rules will be disqualified.


2. RICS School of Built Environment has the right to disqualify the entries
which do not adhere the rules.
3. Competitors must not communicate with the jury about the competition in
any way until a public announcement of the winners is made.
4. Jury’s decision will be the final decision.
5. The organizers reserve the right to modify, add or delete any part of
competition.
6. Venue will be MS Teams and further details will be shared after
registration.
7. Content containing language that is vulgar. Offensive, or wholly
inappropriate will not be entertained.
8. Strictly adhere to the time constraints for the respective events.
9. All the participants must adhere to the respective deadlines mentioned for
the events.
10.All the participants shall be provided with participation certificate.
11.Winners will be awarded with winner’s certificate.
Event 1: Quiz Competition

 Prelims on 18th Aug 2021


 Finals on 21st Aug 2021

Prelims (18th Aug 2021)

Prelims shall have 3 Rounds with each team having one question to answer in each
round.

 Round 1:
Q & A-Each team will get one question to answer. No passing of question.

 Round 2:
4 Pictures – 1 Word: Each team will be shown a question in the form of “4 pictures” and
these 4 pictures are the clues to the answer. No passing of question.

 Round 3:
Unpuzzled- Each team shall be asked a question and the answer lies in the 4
options. The options are in the form of jumbled words. No passing of question.

Note:
 Teams finishing among top 3 will have the advantage to carry +5, +3, +2 points to finals.
 Shortlisting depends on the number of registrations we receive.
 Time limit for questions is yet to be finalized.

Finals (21st Aug 2021)


 Round 1: Aerial Photography-Each team will be shown top view of famous
buildings/monuments. Teams will have to identify the building/monument. Hint will
be provided if they are unable to answer. No passing of question.

 Round 2: Choice is yours- Each team will be given a list of topics from which they
can choose one topic to answer. Chance to select topic will be given based on rank of
teams from previous rounds. E.g.: Team standing 1st will get to choose first and then
2nd ranked team, and so on. No passing of question.

 Round 3: Choice is yours- Each team will be asked 5 questions with time of 10-15
seconds per question. Questions will be rapid fire type. No passing of question.

Event 2: "Unnati Ki Awaaz - Voice of Development"
(Singing Competition)
Description: Participants can select any motivational Indian song reflecting Growth and
determination and relate with the growth and development of Indian Built Environment
sector.
They need to give a brief description before starting the song as to how they are connecting
the lyrics with growth of the Built Environment.

Example: "Kar har Maidan Fateh"

Whenever there have been any crises such as - Financial Crises 2008, Demonetization, GST,
RERA, Pandemic, etc., "Indian Built Environment" has suffered a greater loss but still, it has
stood strong and been tracing the path of Growth and Development.

Lyrics for the song:

"Ghayal parinda hai tu

Dikhla de zinda hai tu

Baaqi hai tujhme hausla

Tere junoon ke aage

Ambar panaahe maange

Kar daale tu jo faisla......"

Rules -

 Only Indian songs. Bollywood, regional or any local languages are permitted. English
or any other foreign language songs are strictly not allowed, and the entry will be
forfeited.
 Duration of the song should be max. of 3 minutes and that of description should be
max. 1 minute.
 Students are allowed to use instruments or music (Smule, starmaker, karoke, etc.)
 Participants must send their entry in video format (Landscape mode).
 Participants can be creative while making their videos.

Event 3: Kalakriti
(POSTER MAKING COMPETITION)
THEME:
Sustainable Bharat, the advancement in built environment post-independence.

RULES & REGULATIONS:

• Do not overload your poster with information.


• Think big and be creative – choose large font size and make graphs large enough to be
legible.
• Poster size: A4 (210 mm X 297 mm – portrait or landscape) or A3(297mm X 420mm)
• Should be original work.
• Can be handmade or digitalized.
• Participants must record a video while making the poster.
• The poster should not include any unusable words or slogans, brand names, and must not
depict any religious theme.
• The maximum file size is 5 MB.
• There will be a session in which participants have to describe their posters.
• Decision of jury will be final.
 Deadline for submission of posters 12p.m 20th August, 2021.
 Submit a written explanation (up to 300 words)/ voice note along with poster
explaining it.

FLOW OF EVENT:

• A poster declaring opening of event that will be circulated.


• One round of the event.
• Poster submission two days before the event.
• Jury will decide the winners and declare it on the day of event.

Note:

 All participants will get E-Certificates.

Event 4: Debate Competition
IN-debating India

National Level Debate competition:


As part of the Independence Day celebration, we are conducting a national level debate
competition on ‘Is Young India Independent?’. We kindly request you to participate to
win some amazing cash prizes and more.

Criteria for participation:


• The language medium of debate will be English.
• Participants should form a team of two, one person for the motion and one person
against the motion.
• The event is open for all postgraduate and undergraduate students pursuing
Architecture, Construction or Real Estate.
• The participant can team up with any person either from same or different college.
• Both the participants will not be allowed in the same side of the motion.
• Students should provide scanned copy of their valid college identity card during the
time of registration.

Rules of the event:


• The order of speech will be chosen on a random basis.
• Each participant will be given 4+1 minute to state their points for the chosen side.
• The first bell will ring at the end of 4th minute and final bell will ring in one minute
following the first bell. Taking extra time will be penalized.
• Upon completion of every participant’s turn, maximum of two questions will be asked
either from judging panel or from the audience to the participants for which, the
participants will have to answer within the timeframe of 2 minutes for each question.
• Your answers will carry 10 points.

The participants will be evaluated using the following criteria:


 Analysis of the topic (10 Points)
 Evidence and reasoning (10 Points)
 Organization of points (10 Points)
 Delivery (10 Points)
 Answering of Questions (10 Points)
 Penalty (-5 Points)
Winning team will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5000 and every participant will receive an
e-certificate through your registered email address for their participation. Judging panel’s
decision will be final.
