exchange of information.
The process is documented in a process map.

The information exchange is formalized through CCS Inputs and

CCS Outputs. These describe an number of required objects as
well as properties for these objects.

The intention is to standardize the way software handles prop-

responsibilities of the project participants regarding exchange
of information. Please refer to ccs.bips.dk for more information
about CCS Properties.

A CCS Purpose is designed to support a typical information

exchange in construction processes. Depending on the com-
plexity and requirements for a specific construction project, it
may be necessary to adjust the CCS Purpose.

automatically by some tools. Otherwise they are entered man-

1.3 Entering data about spaces

Information about all spaces in the building must be gathered.
The size of the spaces, the expected use and the daylight factor
is typically retrieved from the architectural design. The daylight
factor can be calculated by a simulation tool.

be the source of this information.

CCS Input and Required objects and properties

The following list specifies the objects and associated proper-
CCS Output ties, which are necessary preconditions (Input I 1.1 to I 1.5) and
results (Output O 1.6) for an energy performance calculation.
There is a distinction between required input and output de-
pending on the actual project stage.

The output from a process at a given stage does not have a

higher quality than the supplied input. If a more precise output
is desired it may be necessary to request input corresponding
to a later stage than the actual project stage.

It is advised that the areas requested for an energy framework

calculation are based on guidelines from DS 418 – Bygningers
varmetab. These areas do not necessarily correspond to the
physical area of the construction elements but will vary de-
pending on the building envelope.

In the schema on the following pages the physical areas of the

construction elements in the façade are requested, because
these can be calculated without knowledge of DS 418. Thus it is
up to the person performing the energy framework calculation
to make sure that areas are adjusted prior to being used in the
calculation.
