A. Description of the issue
1.Face-to-face learning is an educational approach wherein students receive
learning materials through live interaction but the widespread coronavirus has
jeopardize us from this learning modality.
B. Statement of the Position expressed through a thesis statement.
1.Online learning lacks interpersonal communication, restraining the student’s
learning capability and experience of the subject matter. Thus, the government
should reconsider uplifting the suspension of the face-to-face class to recover the
learning losses.

II. Counter Arguments


A. Summary of Counterclaims
1.The number of Covid cases around the world is rising immensely, making the
resumption of fact to face classes a bad implementation.
2.Everyone's health and safety are of the highest importance, making online
learning is the only viable choice
B. Supporting Evidence of Counterclaims
1.President Rodrigo Duterte recognizes the threat brought by the new variant Delta
virus, rejecting the proposed idea of having face-to-face classes a risky action for
he cannot gamble on the health of the children (Pia Panada).
2.The Department of Education (Deped) has mandated schools to shift to blended
learning, in the form of modular and online classes, to secure the safety of
students in the time of the Covid-19 pandemic (Business Mirror).

1.In a statement, the DOH said it is not impossible for students to experience
physical and mental health problems as they adjust with the shift from traditional

A. Assertion of the 1st Point
1.Inadequate resources cause difficulty in online learning.
a. Online learning needs a lot of resources such as computers and stable
internet connection that most people do not own.
2.Among 3670 medical students, 93% owned a smartphone and 83% had a laptop
or desktop computer. To access online resources, 79% had a postpaid internet
subscription while 19% used prepaid mobile data (Springer Link)
B. Assertion of the 2nd Point
1.Online learning reduces student success and progress in college
a. Because of online learning, college students are deprived of effective
learning experience causing them to get low grades.
2.In a wide-ranging survey of about a thousand students and instructors, merely
eight percent of those online during the crisis say their experience was very
effective (Robert Ubell).

IV. Conclusion
A. Restatement of the Argument
1.The resumption of face-to-face classes for college student should be
implemented.
B. Course of Action
1.The government should also prioritize the vaccination of college students,
especially the med-students, so that implementation of face-to-face class can be
approved.
