1. What is your impression on our family system during the Spanish Period? On what social

class do you think the Mercado family belongs to? Give at least three (3) factors. In

modern times, is it still plausible to have a big family? Explain.

2. What are the traits that Jose Rizal got while studying in Manila? In Europe? Give at least

three (3). How do think it affects Jose Rizal’s view on the Spanish Colonial system?

3. Compare and contrast Rizal’s two novels: Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. Did

these two novel represent the “reality of life” during the Spanish period? How? Give at

least one (1) scene, excerpt or passage in the novel to justify your answer. Juxtapose the

life during the Spanish Period to our life under the Enhanced Community Quarantine.

4. Give a detailed summary of Rizal’s Life and Death. Do you think he live his life to the

fullest? Give at least three (3) factors why. In your opinion, what part of Rizal’s life

stands out?
