students about folktale and fables. In
the case animals took role as the
characters in a folktale.
We can distinguish the difference
between fable and folktale by:
 Fable is fictional story using non
human characters (animals or
elements of nature) as the main
characters that given human
qualities (aantropomorphized).
Fable has moral value and life’s
lesson.
 Folktale is a story that has human
as the main characters. It has
factual historical figure. The
characters and the object might be
real but the story is fictional. It is
handed down by generation.
2. A legend is not a real story, but can be
based on the fact. The legend has
factual historical figure or object but
the story made up imaginatively or
fictional.
