National Service Law 1. This is a law created on August 8, 1980, amending Commonwealth Act existence
to Presidential Decree No. 1706.
National Service Law 2. This was suspended by the Presidential Memorandum Order No. 1 of President
Corazon C. Aquino in 1986.
Republic Act No. 9163 3. This is the act was signed into law on January 23, 2002, also known as the
National Service Training Program
National Service Training Program (NSTP)4. It comprises three program components namely: CWTS LTS,
and ROTC.

II. In a sheet of paper, tell something about the following


1. Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology - NEUST is started in 1908 as a vocational course in
San Isidro where young students were trained in telegraphy
2. National Service Training Program – is a program that enhancing your preparedness in developing
ethics of service and patrolism

3. Civic Welfare Training Service - Cwts is under to NSTP and its one of the components of NSTP. Cwts is
a program that enhancing your preparedness in a defense and civic education
4. Literacy Training Service - its focuses on training students to become of reading and writing literacy
and numeracy to the out of school youth
5. Reserve Officer Training Corps - ROTC is like Cwts its one of the components of NSTP. Cwts is a
program that the enhancing your preparedness in a defense and civic education.
6. Commission on Higher Education - is one of the Government agency that we have in our country. It’s
purpose is to ensuring access to quality higher education and protecting academic freedom for all the
Tertiary Students like me.
7. Non-Government Organization – its subgroup of the organization founded by citizen, which include
clubs and association which provide services to it’s members and others.
8. Department of National Defense – the executive department of the Philippine government
responsible for guarding against external and internal threats to peace and security in the country.
9. State Universities and Colleges – this is the one who are assigned to teach and train young people to
be more productive person.
10. Central Luzon Polytechnic College – it is the 4th name of the Nueva Ecija University of Science and
Technology under Republic Act No. 3998.

III. Answer the following questions briefly.

1.If the government has the prime duty to serve and protect its citizens, in return, what is also our
responsibility to the state?
- Our responsibility to the state is to participate to the democratic process and respect the laws.

2. Why is that the government recognizes the important role of the youth in nation-building?
- Government recognized the important role of the youth in nation building because youth are the
following generation to continue what the government started

3. What do you think is the reason why female students are now required to take NSTP?
-I think the reason female required to take NSTP because we more power to protect our country
because the nowadays we are lacking of army, and other soldiers who protect our country 

4. Why are foreigners not required to take up NSTP?


-Reason foreigner not requires taking NSTP because they are not Filipino like us that citizen of the
Philippines, and the purpose of NSTP is for the citizens of the Filipinos
