1. What is nation-building? Discuss the different components of nation-building.
It is a different thing to different people simple concept. Which dysfunctional or failed
state economies like Philippines are given assistance in developing a government
infrastructure, civil society, as well as economic assistance in order to increase stability.
Through this it helps the community to participate actively in the politics in their country. It
assumes that someone or something is building intentionally. It has four components which
are Economic Development meaning it is the process of enhancing of production but it
should make room for equitable distribution of any resources. It raises the per capita output
of equitable distribution. The Social Development which means that it is making friends from
dealing with disagreement. It the ability to interact cheerfully to the other people that is
incredibly important. The Political Development which means a national unity and an
increasing development in political participation. We all know that it is hard to develop
government that is stable and has liberty, equality and democracy country. And the last one is
Institutional Development it is building a used only on a non-profit basis for cultural and
recreational or educational purposes that develop a social institution.

2. Discuss the importance of S&T to a nation’s sectoral development. Use the sectors you have
identified to form the word “SCIENCE” in the Activity part.

Sport S/T makes sports training by live-tracking


performances, perfecting athletic movements,
enhancing communication and virtually
eliminating injuries.
Communication S/T gives the practice of informing,
educating, raising awareness of science-
related topics, and increasing the sense of
wonder about scientific discoveries and
arguments
Extraction of raw materials S/T helps investigate how materials perform
and why they sometimes fail.
Nature and environment S/T profoundly shaped society, the
economy and the environment. it is also key
to addressing environmental degradation,
climate change, food scarcity, waste
management, and other pressing global
challenges.
Construction S/T help propel the construction industry to
be more efficient and collaborative.
Education allows students to help each other and work
together across to better understand the
