Lesson 1 Effects of Disasters on one’s Life

What’s In
Calamity/Disaster Your Feeling

1. FLOODS
While watching news about the
typhoon Ulysses that hit the Cagayan
region I feel sad and restless because I
can’t do something to help them and
knowing other people are trying to
reach out to other people just to be
saved. The people who were stranded
all over the city are crying and shouting
the word “HELP” so that the people can
notice..

2. AGRICULRAL PROBLEM
While watching news, I just found that
the price of the rice will be low and the
one who has a big impact of suffering is
the farmer, not just the rice but other
food. I hate people who are using other
people that always focus on how to
gain money by using the environment
they didn’t think what it will cause to us
human.
3. VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS
It can cause trauma, fear and sad to
the people who live near the volcano,
the ashes of the volcano can damage
the agriculture of that place.

4. TORNADOES Wind speeds that high can cause

automobiles to become airborne, rip
ordinary homes to shreds, and turn
broken glass and other debris into
lethal missiles. The biggest threat to
living creatures (including humans)
from tornadoes is from flying debris and
from being tossed about in the wind.

5 EARTHQUAKES. A powerful earthquake can destroy

buildings, factories, shops, roads,
bridges and schools. These cause
many people to become homeless.
Furthermore, earthquakes can cause
disruption to public services like
transport systems and communication
connections.

What’s New

The situation that I been experiencing that is related to the illustration is that all
places in the country are in lockdown, doing some social distancing and difficult
to find food because there is no work.
Strong social distancing can impact the economic activity and unemployment
throughout the develop of the world but it can also help us to improve the health
outcomes to differing the extents. As the virus are spread in the world. Social
distancing are gradually loosened to enable the economy to recover. Our
Scenarios implicitly allow for the occurrence of the new cases of the virus and
societal lockdown but we do not explicitly models timing. As the countries move
to adopt different lockdown strategies with different degrees of social distancing
.

What’s More
1. I will chat or call her/him to advice that they have to leave the place for few
more days and come after the disaster end.

2. The Potential effects of the Super Typhoon can cause of injury to them and it
can also cause loss of life. Yes she can, and she will pass that trials in her life.

3 Among the healthcare workers, nurses are found to be the most anxious and
stressed in caring for and treating patients infected with the COVID-19. For
instance, it is reported that nurses are stressed about a myriad of situations,
including worrying about getting infected or inadvertently infecting others and
caring for an infectious yet dying patient. Nurses are placed in stressful
situations, fulfilling their roles on the front line while risking their lives to save
others. COVID-19 challenged and brought turmoil to the nurses' psychological
wellbeing. Interestingly, one study distinctly compared nurses' feelings and found
that those who are less exposed to fever stations appeared to experience more
burnout than those on the actual front line.

What I Have Learned

Always prepare the basic needs (food, water, medicine, clothes, some money
and things to help you in times of disaster). You should know the basic to dos,
before, during and after the disasters. For example, if the disaster is earthquake,
the basic rule is to dock, cover and hold. If it is Tsunami, you should, go to higher
place. Those might be simple but it can sure help you in times of disaster.

Additional Activities
I will agree because when a disaster came or happened first thing we do is to
panic or to react and after then we overcome.
