Overview
Now that you are starting to keep up with reading, Lesson 3
will let you express your position based on your own analysis of
certain historical issue. It is important to note that in order to be
able to successfully finish this lesson, every students are reminded
to use the knowledge and skills they acquired in the two (2)
previous lessons. Knowing how to determine authenticity and
credibility will help you to side on which argument carries factual
evidence, while through analyzing the content and context of each
issues will give you sufficient information to write your own
position.
In this lesson, we will analyze three historiographical problems
in Philippine History in an attempt to apply what we have learned
thus far in the work of a historian and the process of historical
inquiry. The issues that we are going to examine are:
a. What is the objective of Cavite Mutiny and its connection to
GOMBURZA?
b. When and Where did the Cry of Rebellion happen?
c. Did Jose Rizal wrote a retraction document before he died?
Seems interesting right?? These historical controversies will
compel you to make your own stand, but you will never be able to
do that without a thorough examination of the conflicting
arguments. So, what are we waiting for? Let us know the different
sides of the issue!!
