Field verification – NAM Vries4

ƒ NAM Vries 4 is a centralized, gas

gathering, treatment and withdrawal
station onshore

ƒ Process gas is wet natural gas with a

number of contaminants like sand,
salt, mercury.

ƒ The units passed 12.000 operating

hours in December 2008 and
availability close to 100% and was
found to be in excellent condition

Unit Inspection
• Compressor internals dirty but OK. Labyrinths slightly worn, but within
specifications

Unit Inspection
• Active Magnetic Bearings are in good condition
• Dye penetrant test can surfaces revealed no cracks
• Helium gas tightness test confirmed gas tightness
• Endoscope inspection of bearing cavities revealed no internal fouling or
moisture
