2.) What were the changes from one generation to the next?
Juan Crisostomo Ibarra’s great grandfather is Pedro Eibarramendia and that before he
proceeded to move to the Philippines, he lived in the northern part of Spain which is Basque. He
bought a territory in San Diego, this was made possible, since he is a wealthy person who has a
lot of assets. Additionally, the towns people widely speculated that Pedro Eibarramendia was the
individual to be in charge of the beautification and cultivation of the property and the territory of

San Diego. Notwithstanding his marketing and commercial prowess, he was renowned for his

negative qualities and hostility towards his employees, also for the misery of Ellias. This is the
o.
person who started the Ibarra Family tree and that while living in the Philippines, he had a son

named Saturnino Elbarramendia.
o
The first big alteration that can be noted in the Ibarra’s family tree is that from Don Pedro

Eiberramendia to his only son Saturnino Eiberramendia. Pedro has Spanish blood and her wife
has Filipino blood which makes their son (Saturnino) to be a Mestizo. Which makes him the first
ed d
individual who is a Mestizo in the Ibarra’s Family tree. This was a significant shift in the history
ar stu
of the Ibarra’s. Another big alteration was the shift from the last name of Eibarramendia to
Ibarra. Which makes Don Rafael the first one to inherit the last name Ibarra. Aside from that,
is
Th
there was a shift in their enthusiasm and what they were renowned for. As per the Noli me
Tangere, Don Saturnino was recognized by the people that he is a person who is committed to
sh
Agriculture, which explains why he wanted to inherit and seize the woods that Don Pedro had
purchased. As for Don Rafael he was recognized by the people for his charitable activities.

3.) What do these changes about the Creole or full-blood Spaniards in the Philippines?
As he reflected on the events of the time, Rizal was commemorating the Revolution in the
Philippines by the Creole, as shown by his books, which depicted the developments in Creoles.
There can be implications about Creole’s identity and enthusiasm predicated on the
modifications. Initially. It implies that Creole’s that are living in the Philippines before were not
full-blooded Spaniards but as either Filipino and Mestizo. Additionally, these Creole’s that are

born in the country are amongst the individuals who can have a position in the civil bureaucracy

that Spain has in our country before. But in contrast, these Creole’s have a lesser position in the

bureaucracy compare to those individuals who have been raised in Spain and that are pure-

blooded Spaniards. As a result of their diverse origins, there are a lot of Creole’s has a different
kind of passion in their existence and that during the 19th century an individual can be classified

as Filipino creole by their heritage, social status. And income rather than if they have pure blood
