Product description
Magnum姠 automatic transfer
switches (ATS) can be applied
for those applications requiring
high interrupting ratings for criti-
cal standby power applications.
For applications requiring an
integrated solution with the ATS
mounted in a larger distribution
lineup, the Magnum ATS can be
supplied in an open enclosure.
All of the key electrical
components that comprise
a Magnum transfer switch
are mounted on a vertical
chassis. This chassis can easily
be mounted inside the larger
distribution lineup. The ATC
controller and its associated
device panel are shipped loose
for mounting on the distribution
lineup structure door. Optional
wire harness extenders are
available. The Magnum ATS
option/transformer panel is
shipped loose for mounting
beneath the vertical chassis.
The Source-1 and Source-2
power connections are
accessible from the front.
The load connections are
accessible from the rear and
are typically bussed to the
distribution lineup.

The open Magnum is shipped on a single pallet with the ATC
controller/device panel, option/transformer panel and neutral
(if ordered), all side attached to the open Magnum chassis. The
ATC controller and the device panel are mounted on a bracket for
shipping purposes only. The open Magnum chassis has two side
mounting flanges on each side used to support the chassis in the
distribution gear.
The connections to the Source-1, Source-2 and load bus are made
in the back of the structure. Terminals are not supplied unless
ordered separately. When mounting the open Magnum chassis in
a larger distribution structure, the load connections are typically
bussed. When the load connections are bussed, then the Source-1
and Source-2 connections are front accessible.

A neutral assembly—if ordered—is mounted on the back on the
Magnum chassis only for shipping purposes. Once installed into
the larger distribution equipment, the neutral can be mounted as
required inside the larger assembly. Typically the larger distribution
equipment has its own neutral assembly, and the Magnum neutral
assembly is not required.
Optional 96-inch wire harness extenders are available for those
applications where additional wire harness length is required
between the ATC controller and the main Magnum mounting
chassis. The option/transformer panel is typically mounted beneath
the Magnum chassis. In addition to the multi-tap transformer, it will
also contain additional relays, optional service entrance fused
disconnect and keyed switch.

Front View

The ATC controller and associated device panel are side mounted
for shipping purposes only. Once the open Magnum is integrated
into the distribution equipment, then both the device panel and the
controller will need to be door mounted onto the gear.

enclosure. The intelligence, represented by
the ATC-600 is a microprocessor-based logic
