Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope this letter finds you well. First and foremost, we thank you for your continued
support during these unprecedented and changing circumstances. As per the government’s most recent directive, schools will not be opening for
face-to-face teaching and learning until the 15th of July 2020. Therefore we have resumed online classes on Beaconhouse Schooling Uninterrupted
(BSU) platform from today. In order to ensure that Beaconites continue seamlessly and meaningfully in their learning journeys, the Curriculum
Teams and teachers have once again designed engaging online content, activities and quizzes.

Note: Along with online teaching and learning taking place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (as informed earlier), we (admin staff) are available
for your facilitation in schools. Hence, School offices will remain open on Monday & Tuesday between 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM every week.

During Beaconhouse Schooling Uninterrupted (BSU), the respective teachers will be sharing schedules for:

i. Live interactive lessons via Google Meet or other means.

ii. Individual one-on-one student teacher conferences (need based or on parent request) for clarity of concepts and shared understanding
of learning goals.

In order to have a well-managed and effective teaching and learning experience, it is essential for students to have a quiet place to work,
access to a computer / device and good uninterrupted internet connectivity.

Below are points to be considered during BSU:

• BSU daily approach will be a mix of both synchronous and asynchronous strategies.

• Students’ attendance is mandatory for the online BSU Classes as the Class Teacher will maintain a proper attendance record daily.

• In case the students are unavailable to attend a Google Meet session, intimate beforehand.

• Weekly Google Meet Schedule will be shared by teachers via Google Calendar. You are requested to visit it regularly.

• Every day's plan will be shared with students before 10:00am via new announcement via Google classroom.

• Assignments will be posted with due dates via Google Calendar (inbuilt feature of Google Classroom) so you can all see and help your child to
complete them.

• One-on-one virtual conferences with parents will be held between Monday June 15 and Friday June 19, 2020.
Some of the SOPs of Google meet to be followed strictly:

• Only students with a beaconite.edu.pk email address are allowed to attend online classes.

• Students are not allowed to share links for sessions posted in the BSU classroom with others

• Students and parents' inappropriate behaviour during a lesson will not be accepted.

• Students cannot record the meeting to protect other students’ and teachers' privacy!

• Students may share their screen only if the teacher asks them to.

During Google Meet, children should:

• Keep the mikes muted and turn off the videos for the effective functioning of the session. Students can only unmute when responding to a
question or asking question.

• They may turn off video if other people are in the room or if the Internet connection seems slow.

• Use the chat box on the side of the screen to indicate that they have a question or something to say.

Note: An important aspect of the BSU platform will be concluding the academic year with End of Term Assessments. These assessments will count
towards the report cards for your children.
