2. Science Innovation Programme

Science Innovation Programme takes place in Term 2 where students use Design Thinking (DT)
and apply the scientific knowledge learnt in the topic on Exploring Materials. Students will learn to
solve problems and make decisions using the DT protocol. In the process, they will develop
scientific attitudes like creativity and curiosity while working on the project – “Designing a toy
sailboat”.

3. Parent-Child-Teacher Conference (PCTC) on 23 and 24 May 2024

PCTC has always been an important event in our school’s calendar where

(a) our students share their learning and experience in school

(b) our teachers update you about how your child has been doing in his/her learning and
development
(c) we discuss strategies to support your child to reach his/her potential.

We will be conducting our PCTC face-to-face in school over a period of 2 days on 23 and 24 May.
For parents who are unable to turn up for the face-to-face sessions on these 2 days, please make
alternative arrangement with the form teachers and the Mother Tongue teachers.

As our teachers will be engaging all parents, we seek your understanding to keep the
conversation to 20 minutes (with Form teachers) and 15 minutes (with Mother Tongue
teachers).

On these 2 days, we will also be organising bonding activities for parents and their children to
participate in. We will share more information on the activities via PG in time to come.

As students do not report to school for formal lessons on 23 and 24 May, e-learning packages
will be posted on SLS from 23 May 2024 to ensure that learning continues to take place. Students
will be able to complete their assigned packages from 23 May to 23 June.

More information regarding PCTC, parent-child bonding and booking processes will be shared
with you in mid-April.

We thank you in advance for your support, and as always, look forward to partnering with you in
the development of your child.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
