1. Concretize possible solutions and recommendations to ascertain continuous learning
amidst the health crisis;

2. Discuss new DepEd policies in relation to Kindergarten Education, MTBMLE and English
language instruction

3. Present the MELCs for MTBMLE and Kindergarten

4. Share some initiatives in response to the pandemic and thresh-out issues and concerns
relative to the implementation of the programs;

DM-CI-2020-00080 – Reiteration on the Age Requirement of
Kindergarten Learners
DO No. 20, s. 2018:

Age qualification for Kindergarten learners in both public and

private schools should be five (5) years old by June 1 of every
calendar year.

However, learners entering Kindergarten who will turn five (5) years
old by the end of August shall be CONSIDERED on the condition
that:

 administration of ECD Checklist prior to the start of the opening

of classes

• Parents may provide documents or documentation and/or

certification
of the ECE experiences (pre-school, day care, pre-Kindergarten)

For learners with early learning (daycare/child

Checklist results, if available, must be provided.

For learners without the prior learning, orientation to

parents on the Core Development Milestone should be
done by the kindergarten teacher

• BLENDED LEARNING (DISTANCE LEARNING)

 challenging but it is so far the most viable option for the

K to 3 learners
• Printed Materials - modules, activity sheets, e- books,
worksheets, etc.
• Audio-Visual Materials - instructional video lessons using
offline measures, TV and Radio-Based Instruction.
Some educational technology tools and video software are applied with
extra care on editing to make these video lessons more lively and engaging.
The final video material shall be stored in any saving gadgets ready to be
distributed to the parents of the learners.
