Dear Parents,
Greetings of Love and Peace!
The government’s move to stem the spread of COVID-19 infection in the country by
declaring Enhanced Community Quarantine rendered our previous announcement of
suspension of classes from March 10, 2020 to April 12, 2020 no longer valid. Instead, the
suspension has been extended until April 14, 2020 (Tuesday). Hence, regular classes at
the Centro Escolar Las Piñ as will resume on April 15, 2020 (Wednesday).
From today till the resumption of classes, we will continue to communicate with you
regarding any changes in schedules and activities of the school through the Homeroom
Advisers of your children.
Your commitment and support on the following guidelines will be critical during these
trying times:
1. Cancellations:
a. The CELP Pre-School Culmination Activities and the Kindergarten Moving-Up
Ceremonies are cancelled. Instead, the Certificates will be made available for pick up
at the Office of the Registrar.
b. The joint Recognition Day for the non-graduating students with honors is cancelled.
Instead, the Certificates of Recognition shall be awarded to all student achievers in
their respective homerooms on April 20, 2020 (Monday). This will be facilitated by
the Homeroom advisers. This cancellation covers the following grade levels - (a)
Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, (b) Junior High School Grades 7, 8, 9, and Senior High School
Grade 11.

c. All on-campus academic activities such as performance tasks and culminating

projects as well as group or individual projects that need students going out of the
their homes shall be cancelled.
Instead, the subject teachers shall substitute these with alternative activities that can
be done at home which will satisfy the objectives of the original tasks assigned.
Substitute assignments shall be communicated to the students on March 27, 2020
through online means. The students can submit their outputs for grading on April
15, 2020.
2. Resumption of Stalled Activities Due to Suspension of Classes

a. 4th Quarter Examination of the non-graduating grade levels is scheduled on April 16

(Thursday) and April 17 (Friday). These are students of Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5; Junior
High School Grades 7, 8, 9; and Senior High School Grade 11. Your children have been
given review materials prior to the March 10, 2020 suspension of classes. Kindly
remind them to go over their review materials.

b. The CELP Management Council deliberation of the candidates for Graduation and
Moving up and for the Granting of Honors to non-graduating grade levels will be done
on April 17, 2020.
c. A separate circular on the Graduation of Grade 6 and Grade 12 and the Moving up
Ceremony for Grade 11 will be released very soon.
