Explanation of the concept map: SALVATION
The life of Jesus begins with God who sent an angel to Mary to bear a child
through the Holy Spirit named Jesus, the Son of God who will bring salvation (Luke 1:26–38: 26).
Elizabeth and Zechariah were the parents of John the Baptist who prepared the way for Jesus. Mary
was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be
pregnant through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did
not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had
considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do
not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy
Spirit. (Matthew 1:18-25)

The public ministry of Jesus begins when He was baptized by John. His disciples
were introduced and were anointed by Jesus. Jesus preached around Galilee after the death of
John the Baptizer. He performed miracles and taught a lot of things about how God loves us so
much but the scribes and Pharisees questioned His authority.

The Paschal mystery started when Jesus came to Jerusalem where passion, death
and resurrection of Jesus happened. He brought salvation because of His death and ascended back
to God again after His Resurrection.

Reflection:
I really learned a lot of things during my Rel Ed class. Ms. Ocao really explained
well about the things I was confused before about the bible. Because of this, my faith became even
stronger now that I learned a lot of things about God. I realized that God really loves us so much
that He even brought His Son to suffer for our salvation. I also learned that the bible is an integral
part of our faith because it is more than a proof of God’s existence that he made us one with Him.
It serves as a reminder and a guide for us to live like Jesus so we can love God unconditionally.
