Focus Question: Why and how should I care for the different parts of my body?

Topic: Taking Care of our Teeth

Prior Learning: Check that students can:

Demonstrate the knowledge of the importance of the teeth, stomach and lungs

Attainment Targets:

1. Begin to appreciate the variety of living things and how they are supported by the

2. Use digital tools to design and produce creative multimedia products to demonstrate

their learning and understanding of basic technology operations. [ICT]

3. Communicate with confidence and competence for different purposes and audiences,

using SJE and JC appropriately and creatively. [Language Arts]

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: 

1. Students should be able to explain why we need to care for different parts of our

bodies after watching a video. (Cognitive)


2. Students should be able to communicate ideas about caring for parts of the body using

simple sentences. (Affective)

3. Students should be able to create fliers using ICT tools to communicate information

by entering text and graphics. (Psychomotor)


ENGAGE:

Students will watch a video entitled “taking care of my body”. Students will be

engaged in a class discussion in which they will be encouraged and motivated to state

different ways in which they take care of the bodies from experiences as well as using the

video that they watched to aid in their discussion. Students will be asked to write down five

ways why it is important to take care of their body and share their views with peers.

EXPLAIN:

Students will share their presentations with the class for a class discussion to take

place. Misconception will also be cleared up base on what was observed by the teacher. This

ensure that if there is any other student with misconceptions it can also be cleared up.

Students will be required to write three sentences about what they have learnt from each other

presentations.

ELABORATE:

EVALUATE: Students will be required to complete one of the following activities:

Students will write a letter to their pen pal telling him or her how to take care of your body

and why is it important to take care of our body. Students should include tips along with

products that can be use take care of our body.


OR

Students will compile a portfolio using pictures of items that are used to care for the body and

paper clippings from the newspaper or other printed material that provide information about

how one should take care of their and the importance of doing so. Students should use any

technology tool to create the portfolio as well as to compile it.
