UNIT OF COMPETENCY : IMPLEMENT MARKET WASTE MANAGEMENT

MODULE TITLE : IMPLEMENTING MARKET WASTE MANAGEMENT

NOMINAL DURATION : 60 hrs

MODULE DESCRIPTION : This unit describes the knowledge, skills and attitude
required to organize for implementation of waste,
undertake plan implementation activities, monitor and
review outcomes of waste management plan.

SUMMARY OF LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Upon completion of this module the students/trainees will be able to:

LO1. ORGANIZE FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
1. Waste management plan is reviewed to determine implementation
requirements
2. Potential hazards and risks are identified and communicated to designated
appropriate person.
3. Equipment, including emergency and personal protective equipment (PPE), is
selected for implementation of strategy according to organizational
requirements and occupational health and safety (OHS) procedures.
4. Personnel are informed how to maintain PPE

• IRR on RA 11058 – OHSC law

o Objectives pertaining to:

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
1. New and changed waste management procedures and processes are
explained undertake plan to relevant personnel.
2. New or changed waste management procedures are implemented
according to waste management plan, organizational requirements and
legislation and codes.
3. Education and training are provided to personnel to ensure full
understanding of and commitment to waste management plan.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
1. Review of waste management plan is conducted to determine safety,
feasibility, compliance, efficiency and effectiveness
2. Necessary adjustments to waste management plan are made to maximize
achievement of objectives.
3. Details of implementation and review of waste management plan are
documented and reviewed according to organizational requirements

▪ Analysis of previous assessment plans and processes
▪ Standard audit requirements and procedures
▪ Nature and significance of waste minimization hierarchy
▪ Types of client waste management surveys and their uses
