CHAPTER 1
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Great Snacks is a type of street food business in Surigao City. We serve a unique
flavor corndog, inspired by a Korean street food. Since we're not the first vendor
sells corn dog in the entire Surigao City, we decided to make our product unique
and different to the extent customers cannot compare our flavor we serve to them.
The business got its name from “great” because it is delicious and makes your day
great. Our product corndog is a hotdog on the stick with cheese in the middle that
has been coated with dough in a thick layer of bread crumbs and deep fried. You
can eat corndog as your breakfast food or a snack during break time.

Our objective is to provide a friendly, comfortable atmosphere where the


customers can receive healthy, delicious and quality food at a reasonable price. Our
potential customers are the students, teachers, staffs and non-staffs of Surigao
Education Center. It is will be easy for us to approach them because our business is
located outside the school of Surigao Education Center (SEC) km.2, National
Highway. The Great Snacks will be open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Monday-
Saturday during class hours.

Our primary competitors are the street food vendors outside of the school.
Even though there are many snacks selling next to our place, we still wouldn't lose
customers because of the unique taste of our product and not just because of the
deliciousness but because we are also well managed so they come back to eat.
Great Snacks is a type of general partnership owned by three Co-Founders.
They are not just only an employer but they are also the employees who do the
works and services to the customers. The management team, the chef, the assistant
and cashier are also the Co-Founder. They do together all the services and
managing since their business is easy to handle by their own selves.

INTRODUCTION
Great Snacks is the name of our business, what we sell is a Korean street
food that they called corn-dog. It is inspired in other countries.
It is a hotdog on a stick that has been coated with dough in a thick layer of
bread crumbs and deep fried. It was originated in the United States and is
commonly found in American cuisine. In Korea, corn-dog is a popular street
food also known there as korean hot-dogs.
Hotdog offer several key nutrients beneficial to the body. According to
(Udayana R.,2019), hotdog provides grams of protein or 15 percent of the daily
value which is the amount of the nutrient your body requires. Protein is critical for
developing, maintaining, and repairing strong muscle loss that often occurs with
aging. The protein in hotdog is a complete protein, meaning it offers all the
essential amino acids our body needs.

COMPANY AND MANAGEMENT


The Great Snacks will be located outside the school of Surigao Education
Center, a location providing extremely high visibility to our potential customers. It is
a general partnership owned by three Co-Founders. They are not just only an
employer but they are also the employees who do the works and services to the
customer.

MANAGEMENT TEAM
The management team, the Chef, the Assistant and the Cashier are also the
co-founder. They do together all the work, services and managing since their
business is easy to handle.

MARKET OPPORTUNITIES
Our target market is 50% of the population of Surigao Education
Center(SEC) a total of 771. In addition, on the day of our opening we will give
snacks for free.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES
 Our Great Snacks is a type of street food in Surigao City that sells a unique
flavor corndog inspired by a Korean street food. Since we're not the first
vendor who sells corndog in the area we make our product different bud of
taste.
 It is a Korean and American style snacks
 It is excellent in customers’ service.

FINANCIAL PROJECTIONS
The Great Snacks projects first year sales of Php 1,248,000.00 and a 30%
growth rate for the next two years. Revenue is projected to reach Php 608,400.00 for
the one year operations. Net income is projected to reach Php 2,109,120.00 in year
three as sales increase and operations become more efficient.

Great Snacks is a new business venture in Surigao City that sells corn-dog.
Since our corn-dog is not the first ever street food in Surigao City, we came up
with a different kind of flavor to make it difficult compare to the taste of other
seller or vendors who sells in the area. We found another way to make our
pproduct unique and delicious. Our vision is to establish a unique kind of street
food in the entire city and to be recognized as the best maker of corndog product.
We want to bring a different style of street food in the market of Surigao city.

The Great Snacks business model is to create specialty corndog snacks to
offer to the entire Surigao City. The concept of our Corndog is a variation of
hotdog on the stick that is coated of breadcrumbs substituted with cheese for the
food become cheesiest and yummiest. Our product corndog is very easy to eat
while walking and enjoying eating in a public places because it is skewed on stick.
Our inspired Korean street food will coated with dough in a thick layer of
breadcrumbs be featuring unique variations of street food in the Philippines.

Before making the corndog prepare the ingredients first. Then need to do is
put the cheese and hotdog in a barbecue stick then after that coat it in a mix flour
with eggs and evaporated milk. The last process is to heat a frying pan with
cooking oil then set it in a medium temperature and fried the corndog to get the
finished product.
Here are the steps on how to make the popular street food around the world:
Step 1: Get a basin, peel the hotdog and slice the cheese.
Step 2: Put it all in a barbecue stick.
Step 3 : Coat it to a mixed dough.
Step 4: Heat a frying pan with a cooking oil to a medium temperature.
Step 5: Then, fried the coated hotdog and cheese to get the finished product.

COMPETITION
The primary competitors of the Great Snacks are the vendor of Fish ball and
Quail Egg. The second competitors are the vendor of coconut juice or what we
called Buko juice and the nuts vendor.
Even though there are many snacks selling next to our place, we still don't
lose customers because of the unique taste of our product and not just because of
the deliciousness because we are also well managed so they come back to eat.

FUTURE PRODUCT
During our first year in business, we focused only on one product.
Eventually we decided to make a new product that was still the same as our first
product but with a twist. We will make corndog made of sausage and there is also
made of pork and chicken. So we came up with such an idea because our

customers are students so we thought why not we make corndog that can be served
with rice.
In the following years we will able to manufacture a new product again and
our business will grow even more throughout the city. And we also wanted to build
a new shop to expand our business and hopefully we can build more not only here
in Surigao city but in other places as well.

MARKET OPPORTUNITIES

MARKET SUMMARY
In the preceding year, the development of the Great Snacks has grown
tremendously with their new innovation of different flavor of corndog. Our
potentials customers are the students and they are interested to purchase our product.

MARKET TREND
Corndog is one of the popular street foods around the world. Millions of
people are eating this food even adults are familiar with this. In Korea, corndog is
their best of all kind of street food you will find this or you can buy it in the street
because it is famous in their country. Aside of the yummiest of the corndog, it is

also nutritious in our body. Hotdog is heavily processed and high in sodium and
fat.

MARKET GROWTH
According to (Kitrell N.,2017) Corndog popularity has changed by 29.09%
over the past year on average; corndog is consumed 1.26% times every year. The
report has been prepared based on an in depth market analysis with inputs from
markets during the period 2019-2021. The latest gaining momentum in the market
rising demand.

MARKET NEEDS
In our business, we need to improve our product to make another variety of
flavor to offer in our customers. We will reform our services to make our serving
much faster than before.

SALES AND MARKETING

TARGET MARKET

Our target markets are the students, teachers, and staffs of Surigao Education
Center. From children to all genders. The residents in the area are included also as
the passersby.
MARKET STRATEGY
In terms of marketing strategy, since the business is new and only selling in
one store, a Facebook page or a website will be created to spread that such product
exists and available in the market. The name of the business will be placed also at
the top of the restaurant to be easily seen and recognized by our customers. In
addition we will offer free tastes of our product in the opening of our business to

our customers. We will give discounts also to senior citizens and disabled people
who will buy our product.
PROMOTION
Since the company is new and only sells in one location, a Facebook page
or a website would be developed to let people know that such a product exists and
is for sale. The company name will also be shown at the top of the restaurant so
that our customers will clearly see and remember it. Our product will also be
promoted through face-to-face conversations with customers. In addition, to
promote our product, we will provide free samples of our product to our customers
at the start of our business. Senior citizens and disabled people who purchase our
snacks will receive discounts as well.

The business is planned to be placed outside the school of Surigao
Education Center, Km. 2, National Highway, Surigao City. Our mobile truck will
be place near at Manong Store .Where students, staffs and people passersby are
easily see our business.

Our pricing strategy is very friendly to our target market. We lower our costing on
pricing so everyone can afford to buy our product.

of Surigao Education Center.

IDENTIFY POTENTIAL COMPETITORS


Bakeshop, Carenderia, Convenience store, Sari-Sari store, Sun’s cake, and
Jollibee are our potential competitors in business. We are new in this business but
we are capable to impress our valued customers to satisfy their stomach the
moment they eat our product. We are knowledgeable in pursuing customer’s
attentions and satisfaction to make them back to buy our food.

Our business is located at Barangay Luna 2 km National highway outside the


school of Surigao Education Center. This location has been selected with the
management team because our target market is the students, teachers and staffs of
that school. Aside from it, the visibility and image is also good to catch other
customer’s attentions. In terms of facilities, our business did a great job to impress
and satisfy our customers’ expectations on our product. The management team is
very approachable, friendly and nice to our respective customers. We are all
discipline and well manner.

Since our business is not that big, we're not planning yet to hire any
employees. But in the future, if given a chance we can expand our business we will

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
Great Snacks is a small business owned by three co-founders. Since their
business is easily to handle, they didn't hire any employees yet. The owner is also
the worker; they do the task together by doing it alternate. if they will hire an
applicant, their standard is depend on the needs of the business. The Great Snacks
is aimed to grow and expand their business in the entire of Surigao City.
INVENTORY
The business name, Great Snacks, disclose all the information to the
members of the business. Every month they conduct an inspection of their goods
to check if the materials or ingredients are enough for production for the whole
month and if it is in good state as well.

SUPPLIER
The Great Snacks don't have direct supplier, since the ingredients use in
making corndog can buy in the market. The owner just have to stock the
ingredients good for one month, so if ever the market don't have a supply the owner
of corndog are not bothered where they can find the ingredients will use in
production. There is a lot of ways to buy the ingredients, you can buy it in mall of
gaisano of Surigao City or anywhere store.

Judy an Ulvida is an assistant, she is the one who assists customers and take their
orders. She has experience being an assistant as her part time job. Cherry Lou
Monter is a cashier, the one who take charges the payment of the customer, and
exchange. She has experience being a cashier at JC2 seafoods house as her part
time job. Shelamie Geraldino is a chef, she the one who is in charge in customers
order.

CAPITAL
 The proponents of the great snacks plans to raise funds (220,000) only from
prospective partners of the business of 73,333.00 each partners.
 It is assumed that the partners will contribute the same amount of capital and share the
same profits so whatever the partners equity balance, the number of partners will have
equal shares in it for the first five years of the business. (See schedule for initial
Capital)

INCOME STATEMENT ITEMS

Revenues
o The Revenue account balance is derived from the assumptions that
the revenue 4,000 per day but the prices will be unchanged in 5
years. It is also assumed that the business will have sales of Php
4,000 per day times 6 days a week times 52 weeks. The quantity
demanded will also increase by 30% every year due to the increase
in quantity sold.

Expenses
o Raw Materials is 50% of the Sales price. The raw materials are
consumed fully at the end of the year. The amount increases each
year reflecting the increase in revenue also. For more info., see
schedule for raw materials cost.

Supplies Expense
o All Supplies purchased during the year will all be expensed
at the end of the year.
o This account will increase by 5% each year for five years.
(This increase is due to factors like inflation and etc.)
