What is there on a CLIL lesson plan?


You will find below the components of a CLIL lesson plan. Please note this is just the first part of the lesson
plan, with the cover page and the initial procedures for the lesson.

Outcomes content Learners can describe the effects of global warming.

warming.

Personal aim Want to try out open pair feedback techniques on some activities.

Timetable fit Learners are working on a unit on environmental problems. Global warming is the second
part of this unit. After they finish this, they will move onto deforestation.

Group profile There are 18 learners in this class, 10 boys and 8 girls.

Time 60 minutes.

Assumptions Learners are intermediate level English learners. They have a lot of the key vocabulary to
discuss environment but their writing is imprecise therefore needs work. Cause and effect
linkers will not be completely new to them.

Anticipated Learners may be slow to start the brainstorm therefore will input some information on the
problems and walls of the classroom to help; learners may be unsure of some key vocabulary in the reading
solutions text therefore a matching definition and word task will be done prior to reading.
