CPM DIAGRAM 2
CPM diagram
I disagree
Basing on the time of each activity it is clear that the duration time set cannot be achieved
the set two weeks will be impossible, since only one project is less than the set time the other
projects will require a period exceeding two weeks and if the management tries to push the group
members to accomplish the project in two-week time that will affect or low the quality of output.
basing on the grant chart which allocates the group members their area of work and time for
accomplishment but does not clearly provide an area of specialization for each worker these can
cause a delay in critical areas of the project these may delay time for accomplishment of the
project
What are the pros and the cons of the CPM diagram?
pros of CPM
The CPM diagram makes it easier for management to time the project. manager can
easily determine the time required for the accomplishment of the project. it also helps the
manager in determining the requirement for efficient execution of the project (Syaputri et al.,
2020). The CPM diagram is also important in prediction of achievement of the project’s
objective in different phase of the projects and also helps to plan for effective way of tackling
problems that may arise during project execution the diagram also helps the project manager to
monitor the proceeding of the projects and ensure the project is on time and instill reinforcement
Cons of CPM
If not well stated or defined CPM can be hard to manage and may not be useful to
managers. CPM can also be difficult for adoption by new recruits, recruited in the project (Harris
& Ioannou, 1998). In using CPM, it may be difficult in outlining critical paths in the project
where there are many paths. CPM may be rigid in handling unpredicted changes in the project
plan and restructuring of the CPM diagram may be difficult when the project plan changes
Is it possible for a project to have more than one critical path? Justify your answer?
Yes, it is possible for a project to have more than one critical path. a project may have
more than one sequence running separately but at the same time which implies that they will
