RESTORING THE PRIDE OF TAMILNADU

“RED REVOLUTION”
There are umpteen numbers of revolutions that have developed vast resources in India. While
the white revolution developed milk resources and the blue revolution developed sea resources,
the silver revolution established self sufficiency in egg production. Joining this series of
revolutions is the one which has gone underway now in India namely - ‘Red Revolution”.

This “Red Revolution’ which has made the entire nation look at it in awe, has been initiated by
two great personalities and put into action mode. Because of their future vision & hard work,
loads of bunches of red chilies are now seen hanging in several thousands of acres of land in
Tamilnadu that have all turned completely natural.

Sufficiently stuffed with spice, flavour and colour, these naturally grown chilies are being bought
at a good price from the farmers by Aachi Masala. They are then tested for their drying
properties with a versatile technology and then without diluting its aroma and medicinal
properties, Aachi Masala does a great job of packing and supplying them to the consumers
through various retailers. Through this revolutionary plan, even the bio properties of the land are
well protected; farmers get enhanced income; public health gets a big boost & employment
opportunities get generated. There is always a big demand abroad for naturally grown Agri
products. Indian economy will get stronger. All these positive features that are big contributions
for the country have rendered this to be deservingly called ‘Red Revolution’.

This Red Revolution, responsible for Tamilnadu to flourish, has been established jointly by an
industrial expert and head of Aachi Group - A.D. Padmasingh Isaac and the much lauded Agri
expert - ‘Nallakeerai’ Jagan.

“With great concern for public health, I started this food production industry twenty years back.
By capturing the confidence of the public, I could reach the Number One position even ten years
back itself. Then we put into action a policy plan of ‘Food is Medicine’ which could provide us
enough immunity & resistance from multiple diseases. By choosing the best harvests of farmers
from various parts of India, we purchased from them Agri produce like Chillies, Coriander and
Turmeric after asserting their quality and earned exclusive specialization in manufacturing
masala products for retail supplies. As an appreciable consequence of this sturdy growth, we
could establish the ‘Red Revolution’ which has made the entire country look up in amazement
seeing this development.

Putting this into action is Nallakeerai Jagan who has joined us to perform laudably. Belonging to
the region of Melapedu in Thiruvallur district, he is a B.Com graduate. He has designed an
exclusive curriculum and is running an educational institution for it.

Born in an agriculture family, Nallakeerai Jagan, travelled extensively to every nook and corner
of India to study our various farming practices focusing on various angles and then started
cultivating varieties of greens naturally in the year 2011. He presently not only grows and sells
45 varieties of greens but also has established a brand namely ‘NALLAKEERAI’.

We have both jointly initiated the Red Revolution in Tamilnadu. This offers all the big benefits to
all types of people” says Aachi’s A.D Padmasingh Isaac proudly.

Bharath Arun is from Agaram Kandigai village, hardly 2 kms distant from Thamaraipakkam
junction in Thiruvallur district near Chennai. Quitting his job that paid a salary of Rs. One Lakh
per month, which he got after finishing his engineering degree, he is now cultivating chilli in his
own land that earns him a huge profit.

Like him, many young generation farmers are growing chillies and they are prevalent in huge
numbers today in large areas of land giving a sight of only chillies till the eye can see.
Nallakeerai Jagan is also seen in those fields, inspecting the crops and passing his valuable
inputs to the farmers.

He was met by journalists and conversed about his joining ‘Aachi’ to bring about the Red
Revolution. Following are the questions posed by the journalists and the answers given by
Nallakeerai Jagan.

Please tell us about the position Tamilnadu was in, as far as the Chilli production is concerned
and the changes that underwent later?

‘The entire world is depending on India for the requirement of chillies. Chillies, even to China are
being sent only from India. During Kamarajar’s tenure, towns like Virudhunagar,
Ramanathapuram, Thoothukkudi were leading producers of Chillies at the national level.
Businessmen from Northern parts of India came to Tamilnadu to procure chillies. That much
was the level of production here. Of the national chilli production, Tamilnadu contributes only 0.2
percent which means it is not even touching one percent. At the same time the state of
Telangana contributes 35 percent to the national average production.

In Tamilnadu, the yield per acre remains at an average of only 400 kilos. Telangana harvests
nearly 4500 kilos per acre. They are able to reap rich yields by using good quality hybrid seeds.

The soil fertility and the climatic conditions prevailing in Tamilnadu are ideal for chilli cultivation.
We have initiated this Red Revolution only to restore the lost pride, by increasing the Chilli
production in Tamilnadu.

What is the reason behind your choosing Thiruvallur that has been branded a Paddy District, for
this Red Revolution?

“To cultivate paddy and to get a kilo of rice from it to home will require 5 thousand liters of water.
Yet the price of paddy is low. If paddy is cultivated in an acre, a farmer will get a profit of
maximum ten thousand rupees. But if chilli is grown in one acre, one can sell from it for two to
two and half lakhs and get a profit of one lakh rupees from it. That is the reason why we made
farmers to shift from paddy to chilli crop and implemented natural agriculture practices”
How could you succeed in converting farmers who were depending on the chemical fertilizers to
organic farming?

“We could be successful in this only due to our well planned hard work. There are 240
panchayats in Thiruvallur district. We visited most of these panchayats personally and talked to
them after bringing them together in a common place.

We explained to them how the soil that is their life’s resource has turned infertile by their usage
of chemical fertilizers. Also we explained to them how they lose on economy and health by such
practices.

After explaining to them with scientific evidences, the farmers understood the importance of
natural farming and accepted it. Aachi Masala also keeps working out many plans to implement
them for improving the lives of farmers.

As these boost the confidence of the farmers, they have embraced the natural cultivation in full
swing. Our success in Red Revolution is only due to the wholehearted cooperation of the
farmers in this endeavour”

What type of help and guidance you and Aachi Masala are offering to the farmers who get
associated with Red Revolution Scheme?

“We are guiding them with the ways to improve the bio property of the soil in the land where the
farmers intend to do natural farming by testing. We teach them about fertilizers, pest & water
management thereby reducing the cost involved. We offer best varieties of chilly seedlings. We
monitor the growth of the crop regularly and offer advice for better yield. We have a good Agri
expert group which can pass advice to the farmers regularly. This apart, the minimum
procurement price is declared by Aachi prior to the harvest itself. In case the price is higher
during the harvest, the farmers are paid at the increased level equivalent to the market price.
With the intention that the farmers should not suffer during the plantation period, we guide them
to receive a loan of 40 thousand rupees per acre in the beginning itself from Tamilnadu Rural
Bank. Because of the prevalence of so many benefits farmers from all over Tamilnadu keep
associating themselves in large numbers with this Red Revolution plan. Even Aachi Group
requires hundreds of tons of chillies additionally for procurement.”

At present, in which parts of Tamilnadu your Red Revolution plan is in practice?

“Having fixed a target of thousand acres in Thiruvallur, it is being implemented successfully.

Many harvests have already been done. Farmers are ready to plant crores of seedlings during
the Aadippattam. Farmers in large numbers from regions like Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram,
Thoothukkudi, Thenkasi, Virudhunagar, Nellai have joined this plan and are busy in the farming
activities. Officials from the Central and State governments are also offering us the required
cooperation. The Horticulture department of Tamilnadu and the agriculture centre are also
helping us appreciably.
We have also planned to cultivate turmeric apart from chillies in the districts of Salem, Erode,
Krishnagiri, Namakkal and Karur.

Through this revolutionary plan that we are implementing with associating with Aachi Group, a
situation has been created for the entire state to become like Sikkim. The pride that Tamilnadu
had been enjoying in the chilli production, now lost, will soon be restored through this Red
Revolution Plan” says Nallakeerai Jagan confidently.

What is the next target for success for Aachi A.D. Padmasingh Isaac and Nallakeerai
Jagan?

 A target has been set to get the entire 100 percent Agri products required by Aachi
Masala group, all naturally grown, by the year 2025. Plans are afoot to see that
Tamilnadu has a dominant share in this quantity.
 When this target is achieved, Tamilnadu would be seeing natural farming spanning an
area of minimum 1 lakh acres.
 If 5 people work in an acre, there would be direct employment for 5 lakh people. Many
other lakhs of people would also get indirect employment opportunity.
 Industries in the fields of Agri input production, Panchagavya production, natural pest
repellant production would also see development. Farmers are reaping rich profits as
Aachi Group fixes the minimum support price well in advance and also paying a higher
price during the harvest in case of prevailing higher market price. Aachi Group buys
naturally grown Agri produce from the farmers to do the processing and selling. These
Agri produces boosts disease resisting abilities and improves the overall health of the
consumers. This sums up the development of Indian economy also. Hence, this plan is
turning out to be a role model for the whole of India.
