It is true that air pollution has been considered as one of the most alarming issues,
especially in Hanoi city, which has directly and indirectly affected human life. There are
several causes leading to this problem, but the main cause comes from people’s
awareness. This essay will discuss the causes and effects of air pollution and give some
solutions.
To begin with, it is obvious that humans will be suffered the most from air pollution
because humans not only human health but also human existence depends on the air.
Most organs of the human body are at risk of being severely affected by toxic fumes or
dust from the polluted atmosphere, especially the circulatory system. In fact, the
atmosphere has been affected by many factors throughout the ages, but mainly by human
activities and consciousness.
It seems to confirm the idea that there are many causes of air pollution, but the
special cause is due to humans. Firstly, overexploitation of fuel resources does not go
hand in hand with conservation. Namely, the over-burning fossil fuels in industries and
corporations such as coal, oil, natural gas, and so on are the main agent of air pollution.
In fact, researchers from University Stanford have shown that some industries in the
world get rid of a large amount of emissions such as smoke, dust, carbon dioxide, and so
on into the air from the burning of fossils. Consequently, the ozone layers which have
protected us from UV rays have been destroyed by emissions. Therefore, the Hanoi
council has to encourage the use of environmentally friendly energy sources such as wind
energy, solar energy, and so on. Secondly, another cause is the awareness of citizens
leads to air pollution. As an example, researchers have found that the average person in
Vietnam discharges about 200 kilograms of waste per year which cannot be recycled.
Therefore, the government should raise public awareness through campaigns and citizens
should replace gasoline-fueled cars with zero-emissions vehicles.
To sum up, the causes of air pollution which are from humans seriously affect the
ecosystem and our quality of life.
