Overwhelmingly chosen from 120 Rotary clubs, he made

history by being the first Rotarian from Occidental


Mindoro Area to be elected as Governor of District
3810.

His involvement in civic work started when he joined


the Rotary Club of Lubang Island in 2003 where he
served in various capacities such as Directorships for
the Rotary Foundation, New Generation, Community
Service, International Service, Fellowship, Membership
Development and eventually elected as Club President
in 2009-2010.

His active district involvement earned him


appointments to different positions ranging from: The
Rotary Foundation Mindoro Area Representative, Public
Relations Area Representative, District Chair for Water
& Sanitation and served as Senior Deputy Governor for
Operations of Occidental Mindoro for three times.

Among the more than 50 Club and District awards that


he received, Gov Odie is most proud of the Club award
“Best in Matching and Global Grant for Water and
Sanitation”. It was during his term that the first Global
Grant called “Pulili and Cabra Water Project” amounting
to Four Million Pesos was approved. Another Eight
Million Peso-project on Clean Water and Sanitation
ensured potable drinking water benefiting 8,000
villagers in the Municipalities of Lubang and Looc, both
in Occidental Mindoro.

An avid supporter of The Rotary Foundation, Governor


Leody “Odie” Tarriela is a 3rd Level Plus Major Gift
Donor, End Polio and Endowment Fund Contributor.

He donates not only to Rotary but also to community


projects in his hometown of Looc, Occidental Mindoro.
He funded a Php 2 Million “Bahay Madre”, a home for
the nuns of San Rafael Parish. In 2015, he also
spearheaded construction of a computer building in
Looc Municipal High School where he likewise donated
computers and books.

Gov. Odie is the second among four siblings to Dan,


Past President Ronnie and Myla, currently the
President-Elect of Rotary Club of Lubang Island. He is a
responsible, caring, overly-generous and loving husband
to former Elenita Urian and father to their two
daughters Jonaleen Joie and Chelsea Lisse.

He finished Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Major in


Accounting, at the Far Eastern University in Manila.
After completing his degree, he worked as an
Accountant and rose from the ranks to become an
Accounting Manager and eventually the General
Manager.
Blessed with an exceptional drive, an entrepreneurial
spirit coupled with a strong vision, he put up his first
company in 2000 as the

Chairman and CEO of Pinesbel Manufacturing and


Trading Corporation, a specialized company
manufacturing, trading and importation of Polyester
products, PVC plastics, fabrics and other related
products.

He is the Vice President and Treasurer (Board of


Director) of DAKKI Classic Concept Inc., a company
engaged in manufacturing, retailing and direct selling of
character pillows, linen products, mattresses and
apparels widely being sold and distributed by leading
malls and department stores nationwide.

Odie is also the President/CEO of three more


companies, the Triple 8 Auto Seat Cover, Inc. which is
involved in the production of seat covers, car covers,
car mats and automotive accessories.

JC Leonie Holdings Inc., a company engaged in Real


Estate Development focusing on warehouse and
commercial space leasing.

Tarriela Aqua and Agricultural Ventures Corporation


involved in crab & shrimp production, salt processing
and rice farming.

Combined, all these companies employ more or less


1,000 individuals.
A firm believer of Corporate Social Responsibility , he
constructed several lodging houses within the vicinity
of his factory for his employees and their families to
promote healthy family-work life balance. Coming from
humble beginnings, Gov Odie treats his company
employees as part of one big family.

He is affiliated with the Philippine Chamber of


Commerce and Industry and is currently the
Chairperson of the Philippine-Ukraine Business Council.

He strongly believes in Rotary International President


Holger Knaack’s statement : “Rotary isn’t just a club for
people to join, but rather an invitation to endless
opportunities”.
