ASSIGNMENT ON PROJECT SELECTION: TREE PLANTING

INTRODUCTION

Trees are vital to our world and provide a variety of environmental advantages. The

benefits of these trees may be found far beyond villages, in our homes, schools, and

communities. Trees improve the quality of our lives by introducing natural elements and

biodiversity into city environments. The students came up with the idea of organizing a tree

planting activity to sustain, maintain, and protect mother nature and, eventually, the Earth, which

is an effective and relevant way to conduct it nowadays. When it comes to tree planting, even a

tiny effort can make a big difference in terms of leaving a lasting environmental impact.

Holy Angel University, as one of the leading universities in the Philippines, aims to

instill five core values to its students. One of its core values is societal responsibility wherein

every Angelite is called upon to exercise actions helping the larger society through social justice

and environmental stewardship. In quest to nurture the value of societal responsibility, student

tasked to come up with a project to address issues posed by the global warming and climate

change which is a tree planting. Also, the students will feel fulfilled and accomplished as a result

of engaging in this project, knowing that they have made a positive influence. This activity helps

in increasing the student’s consciousness of the things they need to observe in the world around

them. Furthermore, the project will enable the student to actively participate and contribute to a

green initiative with an aim to mitigate pollution and damage we bring to the environment as

time progresses. It also promotes awareness to make a move so we can save the earth for the

future generations.
