REFLECTION ESSAY: MODULE 3

The corporate world nowadays is extremely competitive. It's now much easier and less expensive

to start a business, thanks to technological advancements that allow businesses to operate online

and worldwide to gain customers in new markets. The development of online selling is an

example of this, and with so much rivalry and activity, standing out can be challenging. Based on

what I learned from the recorded discussion video, one of the key to company success is a long-

term competitive advantage. It is the factor that allows a company to have more attention, greater

transactions, larger market share, and better customer and employee retention than its

competitors. It's the most important factor in determining long-term value creation, and it is what

buyers looking for when trying to buy in a business. However, a firm's source of competitive

advantage can only last for a limited time since other firms can duplicate and copy successful

firms' ideas, causing the original firm to lose its source of competitive advantage over time. As a

result, it is critical for businesses to build and maintain a long-term competitive edge that is why

it is very important to have a sustainable edge where I should learn to adapt to the changes

around me and keep up with the trends especially in this time of pandemic. I can also apply this

when I am looking for a job, out of all the applicants why should the company choose me and up

until today I am struggling to cope up with what is happening in our country and my mind is still

processing all the things that occurred. Many businesses were financially fragile, had a massive

layoff of employees, some did not make it, so they have to permanently closed their stores and

few of them continue to struggle to stay afloat up until today. Some of the establishments

temporarily closed and took this pandemic as an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of

the extent and complexity of existing issues. They took a break to see the broad aspect and assess

what is still functioning and what needs to be changed. Sometimes we need to pause for a while
to see what is happening around us and that really hits me that I need to face my what ifs in life,

accept the reality and pursue my dreams by not letting this pandemic stop me from achieving my

ambition. Moreover, developing a strategic model that will help you promote and achieve value

to the customers. Mindset and culture both contribute to the creation of value that gives emphasis

on procedures and systems that are difficult to modify, as well as to imitate. As a consequence,

these, along with the system, are critical for long-term success and results in a fantastic

experience. These really struck me that with proper mindset, attitude and understanding the

significance of every moment is giving value to ourselves. I must know and recognize my own

value to know the value of others and understand other people’s opinions and perspective if these

matters will help me grow. Overall, I learned a lot in these discussion videos that help me

understand not just the business world but also myself that these module lessons are also

applicable in my life.
