Analysis and Reflection: (100-150 words)

The speech was relatable. Way back in my high school days (1st year to 3rd year.)
I wasn't the mayor of the class. I was not the CAT Commander. I was that person behind
the class, hesitant to speak out, anxious to converse with new people. I had a hard time
sharing my thoughts and feelings (Up to now). And sadly, a few of my teachers or
classmates didn't help at all, "You're too quiet, speak out more often." I was often told.
But hey! I'm just an introvert, I like being with me, and I love my company. But there
were times I thought it was a bad thing (Pressure). That those extroverts are always the
best because they win the hearts of the crowd. And I tried to do what they said, chat with
people, but I always go back to me and grew up and realized that being an introvert is
actually a good thing.
What are the qualities of a good speech? (100-150 words)
Speeches must be in simple words. I admit I use deep and hard words frequently
because I am used to writing to be read, not writing to be spoken. But again, it must
contain easy to understand words because some of your listeners aren’t English majors,
or they do not carry a dictionary to understand the profound words you are spitting out.
Speeches must have the power to let the audience connect with the speaker. You must
sway the feelings of the people (motivational speeches). It must be informative, contains
facts and opinions based on facts, and could be humorous without insulting the listeners.
The speaker should speak with clarity. Not too fast, nor too slow, the correct
pronunciation of the words. There should be hand gestures as well; this can help the
speaker connect with the listeners. It can make the topic a bit interesting if these were
present.
