It is a philosophy that encourages
refusing, reducing, recycling &
reducing the urban waste.
Represents a largely untapped
source of recyclable materials for
production, reusable goods as well
as a source of heat, electricity &
biofuel.

Measuring different Industrial waste
streams, breaking these numbers down into
categories.

Urban waste such as single-use plastic,

cigarette butt, hair, biodegradable waste
which gets dumped into landfills.

To the niche category of recycling

companies/treatment plants which redesign
the waste into biofuel, stationery, hair
extension, fertilizers & etc.
Effective segregation of wastes means that less waste goes to landfill.
About 75% of municipal garbage in Rajasthan gets dumped without processing. A law was introduced in
2018 which also mentions the benefits of segregation such as, it becomes much easier to recycle, it makes
environment clean, improve public health, generate employement,& revenue from waste.
An efficient collection is dependes upon 2
factors i.e. organised collection & a Mantra
"My waste my responsibility"
Thus, a SwachhKarmi & a follower of this
mantra becomes the lifeline for 1st & 2nd
step in solid waste management proces &
helps in collecting a segregated waste from
the place of origin. Therefore the benefits of
organised collection makes it easier to store
a segregated waste for further process..
Main objective is to Recycle & Reuse
the waste for generating wealth &
employement opportunities.The
collected waste is treated to produce
products like fabric, bio fuel, nutrients &
fertilizers for better & cheaper resourses
giving benefit to every individual.
100 billion-plus cigarette butts get dumped in
the landfills of India &the filter is made of
cellulose acetate, a kind of non-biodegradable
plastic

India alone generates 25,940 tonnes of plastic

& INR 50,000 crores worth of food produced is
wasted waste a day

Mixed Waste generally gets dumped into the

open sewage, or runnel, road corners &
sometimes it get burned creating water & air
pollution. Rest gets dumped to Landfill.
