1. Which learning style is dominant in you?

Post your results and discuss using 10

sentences minimum.

Everybody has a different way of learning new information; this is called your learning style. Your
learning style is how you best learn information. It was said that when it comes to learning, we are all
unique, with our ways of absorbing and applying new information.

It has proved that everyone has their way to learn and even me. After I tried the activity and tally it, this
results in a total of 10 points for Visual, a total of 8 points for auditory, and a total of 3 points for
kinesthetic. It only says that I was the type of person who easily learned through visuals. A visual learner
learns by watching someone do something visually instead of just listening to the information. In
addition, since I am a visual learner, I indeed prefer watching a video to reading. Sometimes, I use
Youtube videos and TikTok videos to learn more. Because I believed that real-life videos might prove the
fact rather than the written one. Not all videos that can be watched on Youtube and TikTok are reliable
that's why I do my research too. It is also true that I prefer watching someone perform it before I try it
because I can see how the procedures are done. When memorizing it or analyzing it, I can’t easily
understand through first look, I need to repeat on looking at it until I understand what it conveys.

When I am watching a movie, especially a Korean movie, even though without subtitles, I can easily
understand the story through their actions. Also, I can easily replay scenes in my head like, if I already
watched that movie, and if someone asked me about what happened, I might tell it without any hesitation.
It is also true that I prefer to have written directions to someone's home because through these sketches, I
can easily remember where I should go. Whether I should turn left or right until I reach the destination. I
can also look at an object and remember it when I close my eyes because it was repeatedly visualized in
my brain.

In addition, as a visual learner, during exam week, my accounting and law books were all covered with
highlights because I usually enjoyed reading them when I put colors, especially those important words.
My friends told me that putting highlights and marks will make the books dirty but, for me, it is beautiful
and not boring. Also, when I am reading books, I usually picture the setting of the story like, when it was
written in the story that the Antagonist was killed after five days of excruciating torture. I will imagine
how this torture was done.

To sum it all up, everybody has their style. Whether it is in the way they dress, the way they write, or even
the way, they talk, everybody has their unique flair. But when you think about everybody's different style,
you never think about the way they learn or their learning style. Not everyone has the same learning style
and, we need to cope with it. Some people learn through oral discussion and, some learn through
movements. But as a visual learner, I learned through written text, images, colors, graphs, maps, etc. I can
better understand the concept because of illustrations and, this provides me the opportunities to be more
creative and think outside the box.
2. What are the teaching approaches which you think will apply to you? Give three
and examples of each example using 5 sentences minimum.

1.) Seek out related media that support or review the concept:

Nowadays, media plays an important role in learning. People learn through media by exchanging
different perspectives, by watching videos, or even through the research itself. An example of this
is way back in High School, my teacher asked us to watch a video about Bataan Death March on
youtube. I as someone who is not yet born during that time do not know anything about what
really happens. Through these videos that were uploaded on Facebook and Youtube, I learn how
Filipino and American prisoners were forced to march until they died. Usually, this applies to my
History and Science subject to support the facts that were written in the books. Well honestly, I
believe that not everything that was written in the books was true so I really need to seek out or do
my own research through media.

2.) Rehearse key ideas in your head

Even I am a visual learner, I also learn through auditory and one example of this is by rehearsing
key ideas in my head. This is one of the most effective ways of learning for me especially in my law
subjects. Usually, during my law subject and there is a recitation, I summarize what was written
in the book and write it in my notebook, and when I’m done, I always go to the bathroom, stay at
the corner, and silently dictate everything that was written on my notebook. I repeat it again and
again until I can’t forget it anymore. In addition, sometimes I just remember the keywords that I
read from the book and always say them wherever I go so I can remember them.

3.) Form a study group to give you a chance to discuss key ideas.

It was also an effective way of learning for me because I can share my ideas with others and I
openly welcomed criticisms from others. The more that they criticized me, the better because I
can learn more by exchanging thoughts in a healthy way. For example, way back when I was in
Senior High School, my professors asked our class to form a group of 7 to discuss certain political
ideas before answering the questions on our module. At first, after reading the questions, I
thought I was right on my answers not until the group discussion was finished and I really learn a
lot especially from my intelligent classmates who know more about politics.
