VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

BACKSTOCK
Backstock Volunteers will assist PGA staff with maintaining the organization in backstock areas of The
Ryder Cup Shops.

CASHIER/BAGGER
The Cashiers will be trained on how to use the “very simple” register and handle all forms of payment.
When not operating a register, they will act as cashier support and make sure that all of the customer’s
merchandise gets into their bag, along with a receipt of the transaction.

CHECK TENT
The check tent is located in rear of the Merchandise Pavilion and is where spectators can check their
purchases from The Ryder Cup Shops or Merchandise Express for the day while they watch golf.

ENTRANCE & EXIT MONITORS

The Entrance and Exit Volunteers are vital to the customers having a positive experience. They will greet
customers at the entrance and thank them for coming as they leave. In addition, they will prevent anyone
from entering through the exits, assist with flow control, etc.

ENTRANCE to POS
Entrance POS monitors help funnel customers into the point of sale area. They will communicate to
customers where checkout lines begin and how to proceed to the exit, if not making purchases.

FITTING ROOMS
Fitting Room Volunteers will monitor the twelve fitting rooms, making sure any product left in the fitting
rooms is returned to the sales floor.

FLOATERS
Floaters will help out in the busier areas of the tent as directed by PGA Staff.

LINE SUPPORT
The Line Support/Monitors are the key to moving customers through the checkout lines as quickly as
possible. They will help direct customers to the shortest line at the registers to minimize their wait.

PRODUCT RETURN
Volunteers will assist PGA staff and merchandise vendors in returning product to the sales floor.

PRODUCT/HANGERS
Volunteers will be asked to assist PGA staff and vendors return unpurchased merchandise from the point
of sale area back to the sales floor and designated areas in backstock. The same will be asked of hangers
that have accumulated after removal from product.
POS STOCKERS/BAGS & HANGERS
Stockers will return merchandise, hangers, shopping bags, etc. from Customer Service and cash register
areas to the merchandise vendors or sales floor in The Ryder Cup Shops. Stockers will also assist in
keeping all product assortments at the appropriate capacity. Volunteers will be asked to assist with
removal of hangers from product while customers are waiting in line.

VENDOR SUPPORT
Vendor Support Volunteers will be assigned to help merchandise vendors keep their areas organized and
stocked.

MERCHANDISE EXPRESS TENT

Volunteers will assist with sales in a walk-up merchandise tent located at the exit of The Ryder Cup Shops.
