-Condition or fact of relating to a particular person
-Complex characteristics that distinguishes a nation or group
-Set of distinctive traits and characteristics

Development
-art, process, result of developing
-state of being developed

Can a person grow but not develop?


-Your body can grow physically but the development of one’s maturity can be absent

Everybody has his/her own personality. Our personality is one of our most important asset.
-It has shaped us from the moment that we were born. There are people that are pretty difficult to
manage. People are unique individuals, we have our own personality.
Your personality can either limit or expand your options and choices in life.
-Choose people that are aligned and consistent with your personality. Personality determines
your groups
-Personality and Identity are two different things.

We will be studying forces and factors affecting our personality


-born with a certain type of personality or learn from our parents. Influenced by unconscious
forces growing up which can change in the long run.
Components of Personality
Habits – are rituals and behaviors that we perform automatically
Attitudes – developed by the people around us
Interest – we become naturally drawn to something
Values – ways of upholding certain needs
Principles – a basic idea or rule that explains or controls how something happens or works
Intellectual – your intelligence or mental capacity allowing to you make think and make
decisions

How to maximize the development of his personality?


-self awareness
-assessment of personal assets
-personal growth
-personal effectiveness – how are you beneficial to others and how are others beneficial to you
If your grow your awareness, develop your abilities, and make the right choices, you can reach
your capacity

Reasons for developing personality


-social acceptance – we want to be socially accepted since it is one natural way for humans to
survive
-self satisfaction – are you satisfied with yourself?
-self confidence – we all want to develop our confidence especially in speaking
-to keep ourselves on the job – there are taits and personalities that help us be in a specific job

Is Identity the same with personality? NO.


Identity is the distinguishing character of an individual
Personality is the manifestation of your uniqueness
When someone asks you “who are you?” Be sure of who you are. Your identity is the very core
of your being. Your identity is very unique. You are born here in on Earth with your own identity
and it is manifested through your physical qualities. Our heartbeats are even unique.
You can have the same personalities but still different identities.
