- 2 main types of legal system (common law, civil law) => UK follows common law
system
The legal system has four main types which are civil law, common law, theocratic law, and
customary law. UK follows common law system which includes criminal law and civil law. The
common law in UK defined as a part of unwritten laws which depended on legal precedents set
up by the courts (Troy, 2020)

Separationn of powers known as a dividend of government responsibility into branches to
minimize the over-power among branches. The purpose of powers separations is to avoid the
power over focusing and provide for checking and balancing.
There are three branches in UK legal system includes judiciary (judges, officer of courses and
