5.1.1 For Uninsulated Pipes :

a) The surface preparation of the pipe to be painted shall be done in order

to obtain a suitable surface profile for coating adhesion.

b) The Primer coat is to be applied as follows :

Barrier 80 grey component A & B is to be mixed in 3:1 ratio respectively &is to
be stirred well for about 30 Minutes. The mixture is to be applied on the pipe in
1 coat by using paint rollers. The recoating interval or through dry time given for
the painted pipes is as follows :

 At 40°C - 40 Minutes
 At 20°C - 1.5 Hrs

The recoating interval to be strictly maintained using the guideline given above
for any intermediate temperatures.

The DFT achieved in the primer coat painting alone will be 70 Microns.

c) After the through dry period of pipes, the midcoat is to be applied as

follows :

Penguard midcoat, light grey component A & B to be mixed in 4:1

ratio respectively & is to be stirred well for about 10 Minutes. The
mixture is to be applied on the pipe in 2 coats by using paint rollers.
The recoating interval or through dry time given for the painted pipe
