prepared or drafted a Compromise Agreement which has already been read and approved by the

Oli: Unfortunately, your Honor the Compromise Agreement has not yet been signed by the parties. The
accused is currently in Manila processing his employment abroad your Honor and due to travel
restrictions, he cannot easily return to La Union to sign the document simultaneously with the
Complainant.

Oli: May I propose that the accused will just be instructed to print the Compromise Agreement and
acknowledge the same before a Notary Public in his current place of residence, your Honor? Thereafter
he will send the compromise agreement to the Court or to the Prosecutor your Honor whom we ask to
explain the contents thereof to the complainant and then have the complainant sign the same and
submit to the court, your Honor.

Oli: May I also suggest your Honor that since the criminal aspect of the case will not be dismissed
despite the compromise agreement of the parties on the civil aspect, that we just proceed with the Pre-
Trial of the case your Honor? May we set the subsequent hearings immediately as I would ultimately
move for the permanent dismissal of this case for failure to prosecute or lack of interest to participate in
the proceedings on the part of the Complainant since they have already compromised on the civil
aspect?
