Statement of Purpose: Please explain your reasons for wanting to participate in the courses you selected.
What impact will your participation in this program have on your institution, or region, and how do you
expect to use the knowledge acquired in this course?
Being a teacher means continuous learning in order to adjust to the requirements of the curriculum and learners’
needs. Also, the pandemic has shown us that it is not enough to know the language and how to teach in class. This is
why I have decided to participate in this program.
First of all, in order to teach English for communication and reach the CECRL levels, EFL teachers have to integrate
grammar and to teach communicatively as not all students can retain grammar in the same way. So, teaching
grammar communicatively comprises some skills and methods necessary for reaching the CECRL levels by the end of
every school year. For me, this course will help me improve my teaching grammar communicatively skills.
Second, during the pandemic times it is observed a strong necessity for using technology during the online lessons.
In order to have the students attentive and motivated to work, nowadays a teacher should always explore and find
new websites and ways of teaching English interactively. Therefore using educational technology is a strong necessity
for me and my students during the online and also traditional lessons.
Third, as not all the teachers have the possibility to participate in such courses, a teacher must have some
knowledge and skills to help other teachers. In my opinion it is not so simple to teach other teachers and I would need
professional development of a teacher trainer. This is the reason for my third option for this course.
Finally, I would be more than thankful to have the opportunity to attend this course for my personal development,
for building my self-confidence and for improving the quality of my lessons. As a result of my participation my
institution will benefit through the well prepared students who will participate in different regional activities and raise
the image of the institution. Also, I am going to organize different workshops for teaching teachers the new acquired
knowledge at local and regional level and disseminate information to improve the skills of other teachers of English.
