 OVERVIEW;

Covid-19 (Coronavirus), being a new viral disease affecting humans for the first
time, vaccines are not yet available. Thus, the emphasis is on taking extensive
precautions such as extensive hygiene protocol (e.g., regularly washing of
hands, avoidance of face-to-face interaction, etc.), social distancing, and
wearing of masks, and so on. This virus is spreading exponentially region wise.
Countries are banning gatherings of people to spread and break the exponential
curve. Many countries are locking their population and enforcing strict
quarantine to control the spread of the havoc of this highly communicable
disease.
Covid-19 has rapidly affected our day-to-day life, businesses, disrupted the
world trade and movements. Identification of the disease at an early stage is
vital to control the spread of the virus because it very rapidly spreads from
person to person. 

 PAKISTAN AND COVID-19


Pakistan tested its first coronavirus-positive case on 26 February, a young man
who returned from Iran after the pilgrimage. So in response to the global
pandemic, the Pakistan government announces a nationwide lockdown on 15th
March, and on 9th May, the Pakistan government almost completely lifted a
nationwide lockdown it had imposed to counter covid-19 except for the
educational sector. Pakistan subsequently saw a surge in cases, placing it among
the top twelve pandemic-affected countries worldwide; in response now on 26
November, the Pakistan government imposed a partial lockdown.

 DISTRICT MALAKAND AND COVID-19


Covid-19 pandemic lockdown affected Malakand more diversely as the
majority were not even aware of what is Covid-19 but thanks to District
Management Officers, as they controlled the situation. Malakand Covid-19
patient was few in numbers but this made a very bad impact on people as they
were believing all the conspiracy and roamers about Covid-19 and which made
the scenario more difficult to be controlled cause of which citizens of Malakand
were not only affected economically, physically but emotionally too, as the
society was divided.
Presently the impacts of covid-19 in daily life on Malakand citizens are
extensive and have far-reaching consequences.
These can be divided into various categories:

A. HEALTHCARE; 
 Challenges in the diagnosis, quarantine, and treatment of suspected or
confirmed cases.
 High burden of the functioning of the existing medical system.
 Patients with other diseases and health problems are being neglected.
 Overload on doctors and other healthcare professionals, who are at very high
risk.
 Overloading of medical shops.
 The requirement for high protection.
 Disruption of the medical supply chain.

B. ECONOMIC;

 Slowing of the manufacturing of essential goods.


 Disrupt the supply chain of products.
 Losses in national and international business.
 Poor cash flow in the market.
 Significant slowing down in the revenue growth.

C. SOCIAL;

 The service sector is not being able to provide their proper service.
 Cancellation or postponement of large-scale sports and tournaments.
 Avoiding national and international traveling and cancellation of services.
 Disruption of the celebration of cultural, religious, and festive events.
 Undue stress among the population.
 Social distancing with our peers and family members.
 Closure of the hotels, restaurants, and religious places.
 Closure of places for entertainment such as movie and play theatres, sports
clubs, gymnasiums, swimming pools, and so on.

D. EDUCATION;

 Classes were shifted online but many students lack all those facilities.
 Technical students were affected the most, as they were unable to practice most
technical things practically
 Students are affected socially as they miss co-curricular activities because of the
Quarantine.
 Laziness dullness and other social problems are emerging in students because of
the Quarantine.
 Most importantly all exams were postponed and later they were canceled as
most of the students’ were affected by the marking policy imposed by the
government.

 CONCLUSION;

Covid-19 is the physical, emotional, psychological, and economic war for the
whole world. This is a very hard time for the poor, as all their savings and
source of income has been affected.
Cause of quarantine from children to elders, they have affected psychologically
and the monster depression is killing the sensitive peoples.
Every day is getting worse but the good news is that the vaccine is in its third
stage and soon it will be available.
The Covid-19 pandemic can only be defeated if the whole nation is united and
get serious about the pandemic and follow all the SOPS strictly, so we have to
fight this battle and the end to this pandemic is near INSHALLAH!
