PDF Extra!

Go through our short introductory guide to


learn the app’s navigation, main features
and how to use them.

The first screen you’ll see after
opening PDF Extra is the Home tab.
Along with it at the bottom of the
screen are also the Create New
button and the Files tab. These three
will be one of your main ways of
navigating through the app, so let’s
have a closer look at them.

Home - This is the default PDF Extra


menu, housing your recently opened
files and list of Favorites.

Create New - Contains some of


the features you’ll be using the most.
Features such as camera scanning,
conversions, creating blank PDFs and
more. Check page 3 to learn more
about it.

Files - Here’s where you can


access your existing PDFs and
other files on your local or cloud
storages. Check page 4 to learn
more about it.

As mentioned above, the Create
New button houses some
of the most important PDF Extra
features. Here’s a quick rundown:

The Files tab is where you can navigate through your local or cloud
storage, or find specific documents to open and manage. Options here
include:

Access advanced options The set of options available
for any PDF or other file to you will differ depending
by long-pressing on it or on the file format you’ve
tapping the three dots picked and its location.

Once you’ve opened a file, have a look at the
top center of the screen. There you’ll find the
Annotate, Draw, Edit and Fill & Sign tabs.
Accessing each of these categories’ features
is done from the toolbar just below the tabs.

Scroll through the toolbar and tap to select the
one you want to use. The full list of features
available in the bar includes:

To learn more about a specific feature, read the
tooltip that appears in the center of the screen
after you tap on a feature.

Once you’ve selected the feature you want and


know how to use it you can finetune it by going to
the floating button at the bottom right of the
screen. There you’ll find a different set of settings,
depending on the feature you’ve selected.

Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s have
a look at some specific operations you’ll be
performing frequently.

Edit

To start, just go to the Edit tab and tap on the Text or Images option. Once
done, the PDF below will show borders around any editable text and anchors
around images or other graphic elements. You can use these borders and
anchors to resize or move the fields, as well as edit their contents.

Fill & Sign

Filling in and signing contracts, forms and


other PDF documentation is easy with
PDF Extra. Just go to the Fill & Sign tab,
tap on Signature, add your signature
by hardwiring and then drag it to the
appropriate field. From the Fill & Sign tab
you can also add dates,
Text boxes or make a
quick sketch with the
drawing tools.

Organizing Pages

To change your PDFs structure tap on Pages navigation, while in main


document view (no features selected). They can be found at the bottom of
the screen on iPhones and in the top right corner, under ‘Pages’, on iPads.

Tapping there will send you


to a new screen where you
can Insert, Rotate, Delete,
Duplicate or Delete pages,
as well as Merge entire PDFs.
