Listen to any musical recording of a song. Define song.

Song is like a poem accompanied with melody, rhythm and some instrumental
sounds. It is usually made up of words or sentences called lyrics and being sing
using human voices. To make the music more beautiful and interesting to listen,
they add some instrumental sound such as violin, piano, guitar, drums, and etc.
Music is a form of art that have been used in different ways and occasions such as
party, wedding, burial, rituals and many more ways. Listening to music makes us feel
variety of emotions like if we are sad we tend to listen to emotional song with soft
melody that makes us cry and when we are at the party the song being played is
usually something that will boost our energy and makes our body dance and groove
with the beat.

If a song is without music, is it still a song or is it just a lyric?

If the song is without music it was just a lyrics because when we say song you have
to sing it or play it with the accompaniment of the beat, musical instrument and
music and also if you just write a lyrics and it doesn’t have music some people might
think of it as a poetry or verse composition, therefore, song without music is just a
lyrics.

 If the music is without a lyric, then what is it? Is it a melody or a composition?

If the music is without lyrics it is called melody, because according to Miriam-

Webster dictionary the composition is the act or process of composing; specifically:
arrangement into specific proportion or relation and especially into artistic form.
While the melody means a sweet or agreeable succession or arrangement of
sounds. That means composition must be a combination of the song with its lyrics
while the melody can only be the arrangement of its instrumental music.
