Definitely, you already know how to measure. But how is it to measure?
Please do the following activities. For the documentation part, provide 1-2 video/s
or 10 or more pictures which will serve as a proof of you performing the activity.

1. Using any appropriate measuring device you have at home, measure the
following quantities. Do your measurements 3x and get the average of the
results and write this average on the space provided. Express the results of your
measurements in the units indicated.
a. Length of your dining table/any table.
Average: 120.65 cm
in feet (ft) 3.96 ft.
in inches (in) 47.5 in
in centimeters (cm) 125.65 cm
in meters (m) 1.21 m

b. The width of your dining table or any table (same table in a).
Average: 59.69 cm
in feet (ft) 1.96 ft.
in inches (in) 23.5 in
in centimeters (cm) 59.69 cm.
in meters (m) 0.60 m

c. The thickness (height) of your dining table or any table (same table in a).
Average: 39.37 cm
in feet (ft) 1.29 ft.
in inches (in) 15.5 in
in centimeters (cm) 39.37 cm
in meters (m) 0.39 m.

d. Your Height:
in feet (ft): 5.1
5.1 + 5.1 + 5.1 = 15.3
15.3 /3 = 5.1 ft

in inches (in): 61.2

61.2 + 61.2 + 61.2 = 183.6
183.6 /3 = 61.2 inch
in centimeters (cm): 155.45
155.45 + 155.45 + 155.45 = 466.35
466.35 /3 = 155.45 cm

in meters (m): 1.55

1.55 + 1.55 + 1.55 = 4.65
4.65 /3 = 0.52 m

in feet and inches (ft. and inch): 5’1

5.1 + 5.1 + 5.1 = 15.3
15.3 / 3 = 5.1 ft inch

e. Your mass in kilograms (kg)

Kg: 45
45+ 45+ 45 = 135
135 / 3 = 45 kg
f. Your Weight
In Newtons (N): 441.21
441.21 + 441.21 + 441.21 + = 1,32.63
1,323.63 / 3 = 441.21 n

in pounds (lbs): 99.21

99.21 + 99.21 + 99.21 = 297.63
297.63 / 3 = 99.21 lb

g. The capacity (volume) of your drinking glass or bottle

in milliliters (ml) 300 ml
in liters (l) 0.3 l
in cubic centimeters (cm3 ) 300 cm3

h. The area of your dining table or any table (use the length in a and the
width in b to find its area)
in square feet (ft 2 ) 1.02 ft2
in square inches (in2) 146.88 in2
in square centimeters (cm2) 947.611 cm2
in square meters (m2) 0.0947611 m2
i. The volume of the table in a (use the length in a, the width in b, and the
height in c to find this quantity)
in cubic feet (ft 3 ) 2.55 ft3
in cubic inches (in 3) 4406.4 in3
in cubic centimeters (cm3 ) 72207.96 cm3
in cubic meters (m3) 0.07220796 m3

j. Measure a length of 3.0 m to 4.0 m in your room. Mark one end as point A
and the other end as point B and take the time it takes you to walk from
point A to B. Length
in meters (m) 2.7 m
in feet (ft) 9 ft
time in seconds (s) 4.7s
time in minutes (min) 0.8 min

k. Your speed in
meters/second (m/s) 5.1 m/s
meters/minute (m/min) 0.08 m/min
feet/second (ft/s) 2 ft/s
feet/minute (ft/min) 4ft/min
2. There are several things that you shall consider when you are going to measure.
Please answer briefly the following questions in complete sentences.
 What did you measure?
 We assigned specific task for each member to easily finish it. Jeric Bay-an Busongan
from number 1 (letters a-c) measured the Length, width and thickness of the dining
table. Ansherina Buenaagua number 1 (letters d-f) measured its height and weight.
Quintina Tara Niturada number 1 (letters g-i) measured the volume of drinking
glass, area and volume of the dining table. Jewel Rico (number 1 letters j and k)
measured the length of her room and her speed.
 How did you measure these?
 We measure it using available measuring device at home and following the things
needed to be measured with the exact unit to be placed in number 1 a-j.
 How did you express the results of your measurements?
 The result we gather from measuring is expressed by a specific number
accompanied by a unit thus if the number of physical quantities appears to be very
large, we need only a limited number of units for expressing all the physical
quantities, since they are interrelated with one another.
