I f you are looking for something special, you need a special com-
panion. That’s why since 1961 we’ve been building camper vans
that are ready for any adventure. At that time, we opened up a
completely new dimension of mobile travel for our customers with
our “Caravano” camper van. Today, HYMER camper vans are the
perfect vehicles for extended vacations, spontaneous weekend
trips or even just driving to the nearest supermarket – thanks to
their manoeuvrability and compact dimensions, the flexible and

An optional, driver-activated four-wheel drive system with greater
traction, improved driving stability and the latest generation of
ADAPTIVE ESP® means you can master every challenge in all

AMBIENT LIGHTING
The ambient lighting is characterised by indirect LED lights,
thus ensuring an understated and homely feel throughout the
living and kitchen areas.
DIESEL HEATER
Heating with diesel means maximum independence for you
because the fuel comes directly from the vehicle’s tank and
does not have to be purchased separately. The modern heaters
are also extremely quiet and completely odourless, not to
mention reliable and highly efficient.
INSECT SCREEN
The pleated insect screen for the sliding door on the side of
your HYMER is a practical addition. It’s sturdy and provides
reliable protection from insects and other unwelcome guests.
FRONT-WHEEL DRIVE
The front-wheel drive system is much lighter than its rear-wheel
drive counterpart, which reduces the overall weight of the vehicle
and allows a larger payload. The front-wheel drive is available with
6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmissions.
REAR-WHEEL DRIVE
Thanks to its powerful rear wheel drive, the HYMER displays
smooth, superior handling in all traffic situations – and an
extremely comfortable ride into the bargain.
ISOFIX
ISOFIX is an internationally standardised system that is the
safest, easiest and quickest way to fit a child car seat correct-
ly, without using the vehicle’s seat belt.
INSULATED ALUMINIUM FRAMED WINDOWS
The high-quality aluminium framed windows, which are in-
cluded as standard, offer improved burglary protection and
guarantee first-class winter resistance. Practical pleated
blinds and insect screens are included.

90 litres.
POP-TOP ROOF
Two extra berths are available thanks to the optional pop-top
roof with integrated Maxi double bed featuring our comfort
sleeping system.
COMFORT SLEEPING SYSTEM
The HYMER comfort sleeping system with high-quality disc-
spring bed frames maximises the benefits of the multi-zone
cold foam mattresses. Each area of the body is supported
with the ideal counter-pressure for snug and restful sleep.
SOCKETS
The 230 V and 12 V sockets provide plenty of power for various
appliances.
LASHING RAILS
Integrated aluminium lashing rails with adjustable eyelets
allow flexible and secure mounting of various accessories for
transportation purposes.
4 KW HOT-AIR HEATING SYSTEM
You can use the heater to warm up the interior and heat the
water for the kitchen and bathroom – either simultaneously
or separately.
5TH SEAT
As an adaptable five-seater version with driver and passen-
ger seat, double bench seat and the removable fifth seat, the

The large sliding door on the side of the HYMER Free offers splendid
views. The standard pleated insect screen also protects you from
mosquitoes and other unwelcome guests.
WELL EQUIPPED, WELL PREPARED.
The kitchen area in the HYMER Free is fitted with a cooker / sink
combination with a 2-burner gas hob. The cooker and sink can be
covered with a glass lid to create a generous work surface. The door
of the 70-litre refrigerator has a double hinge and can be opened in
both directions as required.

easily thanks to a swivel-mounted tabletop extension.

The rear beds in the HYMER Free are equipped with a comfortable cold
foam mattress including a comfort slatted frame, guaranteeing a restful
night’s sleep. The slatted frame in the rear of the HYMER Free can be raised
up vertically, leaving a wide gangway for through-loading of even bulky
objects, such as bicycles. Your cargo can be kept perfectly secure thanks
to the lashing eyelets that are recessed in the upper floor and rear bed.

PRIVATE AND COSY.

The compact bathroom is closed off by a space-saving tambour door.
When showering, the shower curtain protects the mirror cabinet, wash-
basin and toilet from water spray. An all-round drainage channel ensures
reliable drainage of the water in the shower tray. Your bathroom accessories
can be neatly stowed away in the mirror cabinet above the washbasin.
There is also an open shelf for taller items, such as cans of hairspray.

PLENTY OF ROOM.
The floor-to-ceiling wardrobe in the HYMER Free 600 offers plenty of
room for all your holiday attire. Items of clothing can be neatly and tidily
hung up on hangers in the top section, while the bottom section is fitted

WHAT DOES FREEDOM FEEL LIKE?

For us, it smells like cypress trees, tastes like pizza, sounds like sea-
gulls and is green, white and red. There are three of us: young father
and “Bergwelten” author Clemens, mum and van-life fan Conny and our
wellness-baby, Oskar.

CIAO, BABY
To be free. Finally, four whole weeks away from the daily grind. The
approval letter for one month’s parental leave is still lying freshly
opened on the table, and our thoughts are already circulating. Head
for the hills in search of adventure? Or stay at home and enjoy some
peace and quiet? “Why not both?” says Conny, hitting the nail on the
head. Stay at home while on the road – there is a way! The magic word
is “camper”.

First stop: Trentino. Instead of joining the crowd by “Germany’s

southernmost lake” (i.e. Lake Garda), we opted for the more com-
fortable “hinterland” (a German word that also exists in Italian!). One
of the best views of the impressive Brenta Dolomites can be enjoyed
from Lago di Molveno – a cold, clear mountain lake away from the
touristy Alpine leisure parks. We parked our van on a convenient Area

Following the good weather and their trail app, the three explorers needed

just a few hours on the road to reach the picturesque region, which owes
its name to five idyllic fishing towns: Cinque Terre. Soon after parking,
rolling out the awning and popping up the roof, that “dolce vita” feeling
starts to set in. The sun sets over the Mediterranean Sea and the trio takes
to their cosy beds with cold foam mattresses. The plan is to gain some
elevation the next morning – the holiday has officially begun.

As the first rays of Italian sun filter through the insect screen on the pop-
top roof, it’s instantly clear that this is a good place to be. And is that the
aroma of coffee in the air?

Like bright bursts of colour, the five small towns adorn the steep cliffs of
Liguria. Is it a painting? More like a dream. At least that was the unanimous
agreement from our three cyclists who were able to take a closer look at
the Cinque Terre.

Claudi, Andy and Lukas were on the move with their three electric mountain
bikes, the HYMER Yosemite camper van and a plan that was actually
supposed to take them somewhere completely different.

While on the motorway, the plan was still to head to the Dolomites – to
get some fresh mountain air and rack up some kilometres on the trails.
The fact that the trio ended up on the Italian Riviera wasn’t due to taking
the wrong exit, but rather to the weather. Snow had covered the moun-
tains and forced the travellers to make a spontaneous change in plans.
A case of fortunate misfortune – in retrospect – because they would have
never discovered this twelve-kilometre stretch of coast otherwise. Not
only would one of UNESCO’s cultural heritage sites have slipped through
their fingers, but also a few fantastic days in the south of the country.

Sometimes you just have to get out there and do what you really feel
like doing. That’s why Patrick, Christian and Ferdi got their hands on a
HYMER Grand Canyon S and made their way towards France. Their goal:
the perfect wave.

FULLY LOADED WITH EVERYTHING WE NEED

The first HYMER test before the trip even starts: packing! After a half hour
of “suitcase Tetris”, six boards, the contents of four travel backpacks, food
for the trip and camera equipment are all stowed away. And look at that
– there’s even room left over for the three passengers. Test passed.

In the world of surfing, France and Spain are considered a true paradise
for wave riders. The plan is to visit twelve spots south of Bordeaux, which
promise two weeks of ultimate surfing enjoyment. It’s a fourteen-hour
trip on the motorway to get there. Time to get the surf vibes going, set the
cruise control and lane departure warning system, and head for the Atlantic.

After a relaxed all-night drive, the surfer crew takes a deep breath of
the quintessential salty air and their adrenaline gets pumping.
Having finally arrived, there’s no holding them back: get parked, the

detects that you have entered a section of road against the prescribed direction
of travel. The camera also recognises traffic signs with restrictions that are
indicated by an additional sign (e.g. when wet).

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM BLIND SPOT ASSIST

The lane departure warning system sends acoustic and visual signals to the
driver if the vehicle in case of unintentional lane departure. When the lane
departure warning system is active, the system also intervenes to make cor-
rections by applying the brakes in a targeted manner. This helps to reduce
the risk of accidents caused by the driver briefly falling asleep at the wheel.
The optional Blind Spot Assist alerts the driver to vehicles in the blind spot
via visual and acoustic signals. Rear Cross Traffic also detects any vehicles
