MATHS LAB-MANUAL AND PROJECT WORK FOR XII

Activity no.1 :-Based on chapter – Relations and Functions

To verify that relation R in the set L of all lines in a plane, defined by

(i) 𝑅 = {(𝑙, 𝑚): 𝑙 ⊥ 𝑚} is symmetric but neither reflexive nor transitive.

(ii) 𝑅 = {(𝑙, 𝑚): 𝑙 ∥ 𝑚} is an equivalence relation.

Activity no. 2 :- Based on chapter – Relations and Functions

(i) To demonstrate a function which is not one-one but is onto.

(ii) To demonstrate a function which is one-one but not onto.

Activity no. 3 :- Based on chapter – Relations and Functions

To identify whether the given function is many-one or one-one, into or onto by considering domains and
codomains.

Activity no. 4:- Based on chapter- Inverse Trigonometric Functions

To draw the graph of sin−1 𝑥, using the graph of sin 𝑥 and demonstrate the concept of mirror reflection
(about the line 𝑦 = 𝑥).

Activity no.6 :- Based on chapter- Matrices

To relate the matrices with real life.

Activity no. 7 :- Based on chapter- Continuity and Differentiability

To find the analytically the limit of a function 𝑓(𝑥) 𝑎𝑡 𝑥 = 𝑐 and also to check the continuity of the
function at that point.

Activity no. 10 :- Based on chapter-Applications of Derivatives

To understand the concepts of decreasing and increasing functions.

Activity no. 12 :- Based on chapter-Applications of Derivatives

To construct an open box of maximum volume from a given rectangular sheet by cutting equal squares
from each corner.
