Automated Double-sided Hand-held Dishwashing Device

(ADHDD)

Review of Related Literature

For generations, the end of a meal meant the beginning of a chore someone had to
wash the dishes. The invention of the automatic dishwasher changed all that, though. Many
households can now forego the time-consuming chore with the push of a button, and still have
sparkling clean dishes. Some consider a dishwasher to be a necessity, but like most modern
conveniences, the appliance does have some drawbacks. Perhaps the greatest advantage of
using a dishwasher is convenience and time savings. Instead of standing over the sink
scrubbing and rinsing dishes by hand, just load the dirty plates and glasses into the machine,
press the button and let the dishwasher do the work. Using a dishwasher instead of hand-
washing dishes not only saves your personal time and energy, it also cuts down on your water
and electricity usage (Hamlin, 2018).

Using a dishwasher not only takes away the drudgery of hand washing your plates,
glasses and flatware, it also saves money and water, keeps counters free of clutter, creates less
of an impact on the environment and is more sanitary. In addition, fewer dishes are broken in
the dishwasher than when you wash them by hand (Ireland, 2018).

A dishwasher is a mechanical device for cleaning dishware and cutlery. Unlike manual
dishwashing which relies largely on physical scrubbing to remove soiling (Bilcat, 2018).

Dishwashing machines are one of the most expensive pieces of equipment in the kitchen
to operate (Frontier Energy, Inc., 2018). However, the researchers made a device that will be
acting like the dishwashing machine and yet it will be cheaper and convenient because it will
not be bulky and huge anymore but a handy one. This device is designed to be waterproof so it
is safe to get wet and also this will not use a high amount of current in conducting electricity
because it can electrocute the users yet this will use a low amount of current and only can only
have a voltage of 3 – 9 Volts by the use of batteries so this will be a safer one. The
performance of this device will stay good and well if the batteries are fully charged and the
power will reduce within 2 - 3 hours of work, in this given time the work of yours should be
finished. While dishwashers can disinfect dishes more effectively than hand-washing, the
machines do have limitations. Sometimes, even the most powerful machines cannot remove
dried-on food debris, requiring you either hand-wash the item or run it through the machine
again.

Basically, a dishwasher is a robot that cleans and rinses dirty dishes. Humans have to
load the dishes, add detergent, set the proper washing cycles and turn it on, but the
dishwasher accomplishes a whole series of functions by itself. In addition, dishwashers monitor
themselves to make sure everything is running properly. (Grabianowski, 2017).
